I was responsible for building customer information fact sheets for use by new client representatives as the company began to move most of its operations from California to Georgia. My work included creating an easy to read fact sheet summary document with appendixes, working with the training manager and client services coordinator to identify information to document, and interviewing client relationship managers (the SMEs) to obtain that information for the fact sheets.

Contract Instructional Designer

Bio-Rad Laboratories

I worked with the group leader for R&D and Systems Integration in the Gene Expression Division to create online help for the company’s new iQ5 Real-Time PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction) Detection System. I worked with subject matter experts to create and maintain the iQ5 online help system using RoboHelp X5 and RoboHelp Source Control.

Contract Technical Writer

I worked in a group of 17 technical writers charged with documenting Medi-Cal claim processing software projects. I was responsible for meeting with and interviewing project teams to acquire project information, adhering to department policies and procedures, and creating and updating documentation within project deadlines using Microsoft Word, Visio, RoboHelp, Microsoft HTML Help Workshop, and Livelink.

Educaid Wachovia

I worked with a group of three other writers to produce PDF and online documentation for the EduStar online financial aid processing system using FrameMaker, RoboHelp for FrameMaker, and Visio. I was also responsible for strategizing online documentation offerings and communicating those strategies throughout all layers of the company including the Educaid President, COO, and Vice President of Strategic Initiatives.

Hewlett-Packard

I worked with a group of writers and trainers to develop, produce, and deliver documentation and multimedia training solutions for HP internal customer support software. These training solutions were offered both online on the HP corporate intranet and to HP employees in training seminars, and were produced with tools including Word, PowerPoint, Adobe FrameMaker, Visio, RoboHelp, Dreamweaver, and Camtasia.
