I recently was asked to elaborate on some of my Microsoft knowledge, experiences and depth of hands-on work involving Microsoft's Active Directory, Server and large system Infrastructure projects. Through the 1980's into the 1990s I Engineered, built, deployed, serviced, and did performance tuning on Novell, then Windows Servers. Along the way I learned and in some cases certified on Novell 4x with NDS Directory Services, Windows 286,386, 3.1, NT 3.51, NT 4 (MCSE NT4), SERVER 2000 (MCSE 2000 which included Active Directory), Windows/Server 2003 (MCSE 2003), became a Microsoft Certified Trainer for 8 years - teaching Active Directory, several server versions, and several Windows Workstation versions into the new century. Working for several companies I was tasked and enjoyed working with custom built Servers and entire networks from Arcnet through modern Fiber level 3 switched networking with 10Gb core switching. During 2009 through part of 2010 I serviced parts of the US army / Federal networks from Kabul Afghanistan and across several country boundaries. First as a general IT support role, then performaning Information Assurance for 3 secure networks including the 33 Country coalition. This involved many scopes. including full Visio and condensed emergency detailed shut down and restart procedures for entire Data Centers. From about 2004 through part if 2006 I served as a specialty contractor for the client J. P. Morgan Chase during what was at the time the largest rollout of paired sets of new Data Centers, and as of then, the largest rollout of new Windows Servers in the United States as part of the Chase / BankOne merger. During their 2 most successful years of 1999 to 2001 I worked with EMC and wrote their Microsoft/Windows market Charter for how to engage EMC Sales and technical teams. my ongoing studies and certifications have included 11 plus years as an actively certified CISSP. currently ongoing since 2010, Six Sigma, Project Management, various Cloud, VMware, and similar Virtualization technologies.
