Reflecting on the biblical principles that have guided me, here are four pieces of wisdom I would share with my four-year-old self, each essential for navigating life.

🆆🅷🆈: Embrace your uniqueness. This verse would encourage my younger self to appreciate and accept who God made me to be, understanding that each of us is created with a unique blend of talents and traits that prepare us for a specific purpose in life.

🆆🅷🆈: Persevere in kindness. Reminding my younger self that consistent acts of kindness and goodness will eventually bear fruit, teaches resilience in pursuing what is right and good, even when it seems challenging or unrewarding.

𝟭. 𝗘𝗺𝗯𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗼𝘀

One Thursday afternoon, just as I was preparing for a critical business call, my eldest, who was three at the time, decided it was the perfect moment for an art project—not with crayons or paper, but with her collection of nail polish. She didn’t just use the little brushes; she poured them out on the floor and used her hands to create expansive, colorful murals across the walls and tiles. 

In that moment of utter chaos, I learned that some days, you just can't control everything. Instead of panicking, I shared the story on my call. It broke the ice beautifully, and my client, also a parent, found it relatable and humorous.

Early on, I realized the importance of setting clear boundaries between work and family time. It’s tempting to answer just one more email or finish just one more task, but when my kids are awake and active, they need my full attention. 

I schedule blocks of dedicated work time during naps or after bedtime, which allows me to be fully present as both a business owner and a parent. This approach prevents burnout and builds a routine that my children can rely on.

Imagine you have a big, colorful box of blocks. Some blocks are like the ones Lola and Papa played with—𝙨𝙩𝙧𝙤𝙣𝙜, 𝙨𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙙𝙮, and 𝙛𝙪𝙡𝙡 𝙤𝙛 𝙨𝙩𝙤𝙧𝙞𝙚𝙨. Other blocks are brand new, 𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗻𝘆, and do cool things like 𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝘂𝗽 or 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝘀𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝘀.

Now, let's pretend we're building the most 𝗮𝗺𝗮𝘇𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗹𝗲 ever. We use the old blocks that your Lola and Papa loved because they're 𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 and teach us the best ways to build 𝙨𝙩𝙧𝙤𝙣𝙜 𝙬𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙨. Then, we add in the 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝗯𝗹𝗼𝗰𝗸𝘀 because they add 𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀 and 𝗺𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗰, making our castle not just strong, but 𝙨𝙪𝙥𝙚𝙧 𝙛𝙪𝙣 and 𝙘𝙤𝙤𝙡!

That's kind of like my job. I'm like a 𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗲𝗿 who helps people make their business life  𝙙𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙢𝙨 𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙡—like our castle. I show them how to use 𝗼𝗹𝗱, 𝘄𝗶𝘀𝗲 𝘄𝗮𝘆𝘀 of doing things (like the strong, old blocks) and mix them with 𝙣𝙚𝙬, 𝙚𝙭𝙘𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙞𝙙𝙚𝙖𝙨 (like the shiny, light-up blocks) to build something 𝘢𝘮𝘢𝘻𝘪𝘯𝘨 that's both 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗴 and 𝗳𝘂𝗻.

So, in a way, I help people build their dreams with the 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘣𝘦𝘴𝘵 𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘵𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘱𝘢𝘴𝘵 and 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗼𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗻𝗼𝘄, making sure their 'castles' are the best places to play, work, and dream in.
