As the Strategic Director at Glue, my primary responsibility was to steer the commercial success of the agency. In an industry marked by rapid shifts and evolving client demands, I had to ensure that commercial operations were agile, commercially focused, and always directed toward growth.

Key responsibilities:

➔ Revenue and growth strategy: Driving revenue, profit, and growth trajectories for the company, setting and achieving ambitious sales targets, and exploring new business opportunities and commercial partnerships.

➔ Operational leadership: Overseeing  the day-to-day commercial operations, ensuring digital products and services were effectively brought to market meeting both quality and commercial expectations.

➔ Team dynamics: Lead, mentor, and develop the sales, business development, and (where applicable) marketing teams. Setting clear performance goals, fostering collaboration, and championing a high-performance culture.

➔ Client and stakeholder management: Building and nurturing strong relationships with key clients, stakeholders, and partners, ensuring their needs align with Glues offerings and acting as a key escalation point for major commercial issues.

➔ Market insight and adaptation: Monitoring market trends, competitor actions, and customer preferences. Using this intelligence to inform commercial strategies, ensuring Glue’s offerings remained competitive and relevant.

➔ Collaboration with strategy: Working closely with the Leadership team to ensure commercial actions and strategies are tightly aligned, enabling efficient execution of Glue's strategic vision.

➔ Product and service feedback loop: Establish a structured feedback mechanism from clients and the sales team to the product design and CRO teams. To ensure that Glue’s offerings were continuously improved, remained competitive, and met market demands.

As Strategic Account Director at Milton Bayer, my primary responsibility was proactively scaling and developing long-term client relationships to increase account revenue. This was achieved by taking a consultative approach to client relationships and working closely with stakeholders to understand their commercial and operational aims and challenges to develop strategies that were commercially aligned with their business and delivered against OKRs.

Key responsibilities: 

➔ Building trusted relationships with clients: Developing mutually beneficial relationships with clients by providing value, expertise, and transparency at every stage of the relationship.

➔ Taking a consultative approach to client relationships: Becoming a trusted, go-to source of knowledge for clients helping to inform their approach to digital strategies, tactics, and innovation.

➔ Facilitating Digital transformation: Working with clients to facilitate Digital transformation and adoption by assisting with Business Process Improvement, Agile and Hybrid working methodologies, and cultural shift.
 
➔ Operational engagement: Facilitating Discovery workshops, stakeholder engagement, and embedding operational best practices with client teams.

➔ Building the commercial case for projects: Engaging C-Suite and senior decision makers to ensure top-down project buy-in and alignment.

➔ Pitching and presenting: Responsible for all pitches and client presentations.

➔ Client cadence: Ensuring that regular cadence meetings were scheduled with clients, providing a platform for updates, and feedback, identifying new opportunities, and continuous improvement.

➔ Budget responsibility: Overall responsibility for budget allocation and effective spend on behalf of clients.

➔ Strategic alignment: Ensuring multi-disciplinary delivery teams were aligned and had a full understanding of the strategic vision of a project to ensure full transparency and efficient ways of working.

MILTON BAYER COMMUNICATIONS LIMITED

My main responsibility was to maximise the revenue generated from MB’s client base and attracting and winning new business. I manage a team of client facing Project Managers and oversaw the New Business function. My role also extended to campaign planning and strategy.
