I have been privileged enough to have practised Quantity Surveying in the employment of Construction companies and Project Management in one of South Africa's biggest State-Owned Enterprise. Learnt a great deal being exposed to contractual projects under JBCC & NEC involving painting works, renovations, new built & civil projects; all the while fulfilling all the required QS tasks in those projects, as well as undertaking other additional roles on the jobs as highlighted on my LinkedIn Experience section. Acquired additional skills online also during the 2020 'plandemic' which includes website design. As such, I realised I needed to learn sales, marketing (Facebook ads, email marketing, google ads), copywriting & graphic design in order to sell my new skills; which have added value in my QS field as well. I quickly put to good use my newly acquired skills in my quantity surveying career also. They have helped me land a number of jobs as a freelancer in assisting contractors with tender pricing, compiling claims, assisting with contractual matters and advising on prospecting strategies.
