The Health Safety Wellbeing (HSW) Improvement Program Manager is responsible for the overall coordination of the HSW improvement program, including coordination of sub-projects and management of their inter-dependencies across the organisation. The role will work with the HSW team and the business to support, influence, develop and deliver a tangible and sustainable risk reduction in HSW across the enterprise.
The role will provide a high level of advice to senior management as well as coordinating subject matter expertise, and assuming responsibility for project management of this improvement initiative which is of strategic and operational significance. Critical to the success of the role is a collaborative style and the ability to initiate, establish and maintain strong relationship with key stakeholders.

Health Safety Wellbeing Improvement Program Manager

Responsible to coordinate, integrate, and provide leadership to distinct projects aligned to the strategic intent of the Health and Hygiene function and enterprise.
Key responsibilities
• Appliesd an understanding of the business context, BHP operating system and ways of working to enhance decision making, productivity and overall performance.  
• Translated corporate objectives into actionable plans, communicating, managing and analysing the implementation of those plans, and reporting back on their progress to facilitate the delivery of the defined project.  
Achievements
• Applied and evaluated change management tools, methods, data, purpose, value and strategic direction for the initial development of the Psychosocial Risk Management Program.

Principal Projects - Group Health and Hygiene

Supported the Group HSE Officer and Group HSE to coordinate and provide technical governance 
across BHP HSEC Awards for 2023, to uphold and maintain the awards integrity as the premier awards for BHP.
Proactively assessed current processes and structures for opportunities to simplify, and rationalise while maintaining or improving effectiveness, through embedment of frameworks, tools and practices to shape. Efficiencies realised with digital solutions, notably the design of the digital nomination process in collaboration with Technology to facilitate 240+ nominations in 5 weeks across 9 countries.Worked collaboratively with Regions, GHSE, Legal, Group Governance and External Affairs to make sure all 
key processes, and activities were designed and executed to deliver a superior event.
Established and embedded routines to identify and address dependencies that may impact project delivery. 
Developed project plan in alignment with the desired outcomes and engages key stakeholders to understand Wants and Needs.

Principal Projects - Group Health, Safety and Environment

Provided trusted advice to the Chief Technical Officer in a matrix organisation, using collaboration, engagement and influencing through strong leadership, coaching and communication skills.
Worked simultaneously across global functions and lead indirectly, cross-discipline subject matter experts to deliver strategic priorities.
Preparation for and where necessary facilitation of, critical path Chief Technical Officer communications including Conferences, Keynote speeches, operational results. Effectively tailoring messaging to operational, technical, or executive audiences. Identified, engaged, and managed a range of diverse internal and external stakeholders crucial to the “newly formed” functions success, and played a critical role to embed BOS with senior leadership with OEI improvements year on year.
Applied organisational change management methodologies by effectively communicating the 
case for change and developed and implements change strategies that included Technical’s 10Yr Strategy development, narrative codesign and strategic embedment.
Assumed delegation of Group Risk Category Sponsor on behalf of Chief Technical Officer. 
Fostered a culture of care and inclusion as inaugural Technical Inclusions and Diversity Council lead, establishing IMPACT teams to create an engaging, diverse and respectful workplace, where people felt psychologically safe to bring their whole self to work. 
A proven inclusive leader who creates a high-performing environment to deliver outcomes, with a strong focus on operational excellence, continuous improvement and operating hygiene.
