You’re not old… you’re vintage.

Or at least that’s what I tell myself as dream about icing my knees and say “Ow” after walking 20,000 steps each day at ITC. 

But you know what?! With age comes wisdom. 

Like the wisdom to skip the heels, stick to one drink at happy hour, and partner with companies, like EagleView, that empower you to make better decisions. 

With aerial imaging and property data going way back… like flip phone era back… you can get the full picture (pun intended) of a roof before ever setting foot on a claims site.

💬 And tell me on the comments, while none of us want to label ourselves as old… I mean vintage, can we all agree that imagery (and heaven forbid a roof) going back to 2001 can be labeled vintage?

If it is uncomfortable, that’s okay. If there is any pain, find a modification.

Growth is uncomfortable in all its forms, but it shouldn’t be painful.

🧘🏻‍♀️ In my yoga practice, that means using a block when my left hip is NOT INTERESTED in trying to get into a pose that I just did on the right side. But it also means breathing into stretches or shakes as I push myself.

Over time, that discomfort eases. What once was a challenge becomes my new normal, and I can move on to challenging myself in new ways.

But if you push too far...? You get injured and stop making progress altogether.

👩🏻‍💼 In my professional growth, that often means stepping into new adventures when they feel outside of my comfort zone. When I was making the move from teaching to training to sales, there was a lot of discomfort…

And if I am honest, some pain.

So, I modified. 

Instead of doing sales the same way I saw everyone else doing it, I “modified”, and I started creating educational content that allowed me to truly embrace the role of consultative sales in a way that felt right. Had I not done that, I’m not sure I would have been that successful in my role.

👩🏻‍💻 And the same thing is true with organizational change.

If we push too fast and force people into positions they aren’t ready for or ignore where pain points are showing up, we don’t get growth. We get resistance, burnout, and project failures.

Your transformation isn't going to look exactly the same as other companies. It is okay to modify your approach from what is being pushed by the big consulting companies. You don’t have to chase shiny objects and shove them in while they cause pain.

You can take a modified approach to the “AI First” craze. Pause, listen to your team, and use technology to stretch your organization without breaking it.

Discomfort is a sign of stretching into something new. Pain is a signal we need to try a different approach.

Leaders who understand that difference give their people the chance to grow stronger without breaking.

Growing up with 4 brothers, I was pretty sure I was destined to be a boy mom but life has a way of delivering just what you need. 

Happy National Daughters Day to these little cutie patooties. 

May they always remember they are strong, brave, smart, funny, beautiful and kind. ❤️

…These are just a few of the comments I got when I asked: “What would you tell the executive sponsor of your Digital Transformation product if you could?"

And the message was loud and clear:
If your people aren’t in the room, your plan is missing real-world context.

Too many companies are chasing AI-first or tech-first strategies… without understanding the actual problems their teams are facing.

Then the rollout fails. Adoption stalls. And ROI? Nowhere in sight.

The fix? It starts earlier than you think:
 ✅ Talk to the people doing the work.
 ✅ Involve them in process discussions.
 ✅ Let their experience shape your tech decisions.

Because you don’t need more shiny objects. You need to lead change differently.
