They often start trying to write their own books, but quickly get overwhelmed by the process! A ghostwriter will help you understand what book you're trying to write, clarify your ideas, and turn them into a finished manuscript. But how does it work? Here are answers to just a few of the questions I've received over the years from my ghostwriting clients... HOW WILL YOU MAKE MY BOOK SOUND LIKE ME? Great question! 1. We’ll meet to discuss your book and your desired voice. 2. You’ll share samples of writing in a voice similar to what you're aiming for. 3. I’ll analyze these and draft a sample piece of writing for you, based on an interview with you about your book. If you're happy with the voice and want to move forward, great! If not, no hard feelings! Not every ghostwriter is a fit for every aspiring author! HOW LONG WILL MY BOOK TAKE? Typically clients can expect to have a first draft within 2-4 months of me receiving all the source material for the book. If you've given a series of lectures and want to convert existing transcripts into a book, that means your first draft can be ready in as little as two months. If we are getting your book's material through interviews, the process will take longer. WILL THE BOOK BELONG TO ME AT THE END? Yes. Your book will be fully yours at the end of our work together and you do not need to credit my name in any way. A little about me... If you're wondering what makes me qualified to write your book for you… -I've worked as a writer for 13 years, including for a boutique ghostwriting firm where I edited and wrote tens of manuscripts, getting exposure to different styles, topics, and genres of books. -I've taught grammar, punctuation, and writing skills. I know when to break the rules and when to keep them, and I'll adjust my language for the needs of your book. -As a Jewish ghostwriter, I often work with Jewish authors, where having a shared language and values is a huge asset. I also bring a wealth of background in Hebrew, Chumash, Jewish philosophy and thought, and can research and source Torah ideas effectively.
