I am the Partner with overall responsibility for the commercial legal services of Forbes Solicitors. I am also the Head of Commercial Employment in the Employment, HR and Business Immigration Team based across Lancashire, Manchester and Leeds. I take a dynamic and pragmatic approach to finding workable commercial solutions for clients. I am highly driven and valued by clients not only as an employment lawyer, but also as a business adviser who is accessible and attentive. I am responsible for the strategic direction of the commercial legal services, including the commercial employment practice, developing and expanding the team’s offering to the commercial sector across the North West. I also maintain key client and referrer relationships on behalf of the team and the firm as a whole. I have considerable experience and expertise throughout employment law practice, including: • Engaging with clients at a strategic level advising on employment aspects of restructures, transfers, mergers and acquisitions; • Advising on TUPE, with particular expertise in service provision changes; • Highly experienced advocate, representing clients in Employment Tribunal cases throughout England, Wales and Scotland; • Managing day-to-day HR issues, particularly involving discrimination; and • Providing practical and strategic training to business owners, directors, management and HR teams. I advise and assist private sector clients, from local SMEs to large multinational PLCs. I have particular expertise in the manufacturing and construction industries, as well as the hospitality and retail sectors. I am a Legal 500 Recommended Lawyer.
