Growing up with congenital medical conditions, I knew I wanted to use my career to make an impact. The problem was, I didn't know how. When I discovered drama therapy in undergrad, the lightbulb went off. I wondered if there was a way I could use my skills in theatre to give kids like me something I never had — a positive way to express their feelings about hospital stays or growing up with congenital medical conditions. For this reason, I would like to become a registered drama therapist. My goal is to establish a drama therapy program within the Child Life program at the hospital where I was treated as a child (Hershey Medical Center in Hershey, PA). I am currently seeking opportunities to utilize my theatrical skills with various populations while continuing to grow in my knowledge of psychology and the creative arts therapy fields.
