I am responsible for the development, direction and management of GYLD's internal decision support system infrastructure, ranging from creating new analytical tools to overseeing all market research. My duties include the development of AI models, analytic pipelines and data-driven solutions in response to gathering needs and requirements from stakeholders.

Director of Business Intelligence

Delivering services as a consultant specializing in Business Analysis, Project Management and System & Product Design to clients in Europe, Australia and New Zealand. My focus industries are Video Games, Sales & Marketing and Emerging Technologies (XR) with clients ranging from established businesses developing new services to start-ups seeking guidance or support on their solutions.

My engagements typically range from one-off consultations, short-term projects to long-term retainers primarily with executive-level stakeholders.

In 2019 I was elected as the newest addition to the board of the NZGDA to join fellow industry leaders to help our community continue to progress in growing and expanding. 

This is role that is one based on working with fellow board members to inform our government, represent member's interests as well as help organize industry events such as NZGDC.

As Development Director of Studio Mayday and I was primarily responsible for directing Studio and Project Operations, ranging from directing the production of intellectual properties to oversight of studio operations business development, administration and resources.

I was also partially responsible for business management, strategic planning and third-party relationship decisions as part of an executive team.

Opaque Space

Studio & Project Director of Opaque Space, subsidiary of Opaque Media Group, and Gamerunner for the Earthlight franchise, responsible for engineering partnerships and collaborations with Boeing, NASA, and ESA on astronautical research and training using Game Development technologies. Steered the studio into winning the Game of the Year, Studio of the Year in 2017 at the Australian Game Developer Awards, as well as being named one of the Top 10 VR Startups in 2017 by Nvidia among industry awards received for Serious Games.

Duties include the development of projects, partnerships, and collaborations whilst making strategic business decisions on new technologies and delivery of content to partners.

Secondary duties include setting leadership policy, personnel and team management, as well as account management including project timeline and resource allocation.

Studio & Project Director

Project Lead of Earthlight

Responsible for leading the development of the Earthlight franchise, including performing production management tasks such as organizing milestones and task tracking, as well as liaison with all funding parties involved in the project. Responsible for the collaborations and transfer of technologies to NASA JSC for training and research usage in astronautic activities.

Led the formation of Earthlight from a single-title game project into a multi-title franchise with investment from HTC Vive in the Vive X program, including writing business plans, pitch documents and lead generation.

Project Manager

Design Lead of Earthlight: Responsible for designing the interactions, mission items and tasks that formed Earthlight's core gameplay, as well as developing items transferred to NASA JSC Hybrid Reality Lab for research into new methods of astronaut training. These items included the 'Puzzle Box Plugin' into the NASA ISS VR project, as well as the development of the 'Earth' asset used in the visualization of Earth from Low-Earth-Orbit (LEO). 

Creative Lead of Earthlight: Vision holder and creative-concept development, including forming the background study of EVA activities, space-exploration and astronaut habits that have formed the foundation of the Earthlight franchise. These duties extended to forming research documentation reaching as far as prototypical next-generation spacesuits, all the way to various health-hazards in human spaceflight. 

Senior Material/Texture Artist: Supervision of texture production and advanced material implementation/production in-engine to visualize realistic environments for Virtual Reality projects. These duties included the generation of both static and procedural textures, ranging from extremely high detailed 'terrain maps' of the Earth to everyday household items. 

Concept Artist: Design and production of concepts for projects across the company.

Emre Deniz is a multi-award winning games, interactive media and technology developer based in New Zealand. In the past 12+ years, Emre has been involved as a Project Manager, Game Designer and Business Analyst in various projects with clients and collaborators ranging from NASA, Boeing, United States Air Force, HTC Vive, Epic Games, Microsoft, Google and the Australian Defence Force.  

Over this period, Emre has been the designer and director of projects across both simulations and video-games, including the award-winning Earthlight franchise and the Adaptive Intelligent Virtual Assessor (AVIA). In addition, he holds a Master in Business Analytics, specializing in Artificial Intelligence, with numerous consulting roles on AI development and design across a variety of industries.

In 2020, he joined the newly founded GYLD Agency and was named CEO in 2023, overseeing its expansion from boutique consulting in video-games to becoming one of the leading global agencies for independent developers, now representing over 25+ studios around the world and opening its internal research & development units in AI, analytics and software engineering.
