2024 is the year of the badger! 🦡 And YOU, as a writer, are very badger-like. (Disclaimer: it is not officially the year of the badger, but in my own personal zodiac calendar, the badger has replaced whatever the official animal is) So, writers = badgers. How? 1. Badgers are nocturnal Many writers don’t finish work until well into the night as they are expert procrastinators. 2. Badgers dig burrows (called setts) to escape the hubbub of the world above the surface. Many writers would live in caves if they had good WiFi. But in a group, they're pretty sociable. 3. Badgers are highly territorial. Writers do NOT like strangers sticking their noses into their work, nor do they like people, in general, stepping foot in their house. Just me? There you have it. Writers = badgers. I mostly think of writers as badgers because they are both tough and versatile. That's what you need if you want to thrive as a writer in 2024, especially if you write your second language. Competition is tough, and companies will employ some spotty intern to churn out ChatGPT rubbish for minimum wage if they can.
