My career started in the operational & customer roles with American Airlines Inc. A far cry from my Science Bachelor degree, but it did not mean I could not explore other areas to develop skills within sales, marketing, branding, people management, training, and much more. I had a wide development with customers handling in diversified areas, but was more interested in marketing and learning in a deeper way about people and the cultural diversity, so I angled my career in that direction. Most of what I have learned in marketing was working with Continental Airlines Inc commercial area ( now merged into United Airlines Inc. ), and at EMBRATUR - Brazil Tourism Board - ironically not studying, except for one full year of extended learning of Branding & Marketing at University of California, Los angeles, as well as working to develop and diversify the image of Brazil to the West and South regions of the United States, and on a second phase to Scandinavia, Holland, Russia, India and the U.A.E. That period led me to live in Los Angeles for almost three years, after which I requested to be brought back to Brazil to develop the mentioned countries. As a team in EMBRATUR we were wildly successful at changing the traditional perception other countries had about Brazil, and how it was perceived by many especially by the relevant media outlets. It also became clear to me how capable I was leading a diverse group of people coming from different backgrounds, and make all sorts of presentations regardless the audience, managing to build an excellent environment with outstanding results not only then, but to the days ahead on my horizon. From Los Angeles I moved to Brasilia, and one year later I was back to my hometown São Paulo. From there I was hired by a tourism marketing & promotional agency. After eighteen months I started my own agency for branding, strategic promotion, product development and marketing to destinations and other tourism related products to grow visibility aiming the proper audience using digital, classic media and other creative tools. It has been a quite exciting twenty eight years on the road, traveling to all continents to immerse in this amazing and rich cultural spectrum around the globe. And there is nothing like learning and actually experience new languages, business environments and the broad cultural aspects that is attached to it, to keep us moving and constantly interested in changes.
