So I set a goal at the age of 17

😐Lost out on a Marketing job at a Fortune 500
😶Wasn’t qualified for a PMM job at a Fortune 500
🤩Got the PMM job at a Fortune 500 4 months later
🧑‍💻Started my tech journey as a marketing specialist 
👨‍💼Shifted to Sales Enablement
😢Told I couldn’t make it in Marketing at a startup
🥸Did everything marketing at a small startup

I’m starting to learn that B2B messaging is pretty lame

There are so many creative ways to talk about an offer

Like pulling a quote from Satan

Yet for some reason, B2B forces you to say things like:

-Grow your business
-Increase your revenue

I'm kind of spoiled right now

Being a PMM, working with a product for PMMs is so meta

For instance: I'm knee deep in a Win-Loss program because Klue has an awesome Win-Loss product for me to use

So I'm taking all of that sugar from Win-Loss and baking it into Klue Insights

TLDR: I feel like for the first time in my career, all of my intel is zeroed in on the voice of the buyer instead of the voice of my gut

I’ve been thinking a lot about my creative process recently

I’m what you call ‘an ideas’ guy

Lots of wild stuff percolates between these ears

But Air describes it best when they say creativity needs “space to breath”

And as Product Marketers, there’s not a lot of space for that kind of thing

That space is filled up with the pressure to:
1️⃣Double output of deliverables
2️⃣Move launches in the right direction
3️⃣Craft a cohesive narrative or GTM strategy
4️⃣ Attend every meeting that goes on your calendar

So recently I’ve been finding space for myself to get creative

I turn on some chill lighting in my office

I put on some lofi hip hop

And I just let the space fill with creativity

Then I jot it all down

Just 20 minutes a day but I’m starting to feel the difference
