As Administrator in Department of Labor for Business Solutions at the State of Tennessee, my role was working with teams across the state to serve incoming and present businesses whether small or Fortune 50 companies to understand the many ways Dept of Labor could help.
Whether it was sourcing talent like Transitioning Military, leading Tennessee in its first established apprenticeship program or recommending proposals to incoming industry while also fostering a climate of business incentives, federal credits or training grants to up skill their employees we did it all in an effort to make Tennessee the best in the nation for both industry as well as our workforce.

Workforce Essentials, Inc.

Led by the Top Veteran Leader in Tennessee 2019, The Fort Campbell Strong Workforce Partnership program utilizing strategic and innovative partnerships led to the first ever for a grant that opened 5 months after inception, meet the objective goals over 20% earlier and under 50% of the funded grant. 

This was a dynamic program resulting in the award of $7.7M U.S. Dept. of Labor Economic Transition National Dislocated Worker Grant for Tennessee and Kentucky for Fort Campbell Transitioning, Soldiers, and Spouses that educates and informs transitioning soldiers about the regional job market while ensuring the regional employers have access to the valuable employment resources of the transitioning soldiers and eligible spouses.  

Modeled to be “Best Practices” at other DoD installations to “bridge the gap” between transitioning soldiers, unemployed spouse services and regional employers to spotlight effectiveness by recognizing platforms like LinkedIn to enhance services as a one stop shop to build profiles and headshots as well as resume assistance. 

Assisted Tennessee and Kentucky companies with recruitment and direct placement of soldiers and eligible spouses transitioning at Fort Campbell. Building relationships throughout the Fort Campbell community including Soldier for Life to bridge the gap between transitioning soldiers and regional employers while supporting economic growth to Kentucky and the Middle Tennessee region.

Created strategies for Chambers of Commerce, Counties Leadership & Economic Development Leadership to develop community support to support transitioning Soldiers from Fort Campbell to support economic growth in those communities.

Program Director

Successfully Launched an Army Career Skills Program, Operation Next, that prepared Soldiers with fully funded training as Industrial Maintenance Technicians. Accomplishing this task while successfully growing an additional Army Career Skills Program 101 Jobs for the 101st.   Success led to Department of Defense awarding $5 million to take it across the U.S. at other installations. 

On a typical day, I  had the pleasure to work with the American Job Center, the Soldier for Life, the Fort Campbell senior staff and the local Chambers of Commerce. I had the privilege of also working alongside Community Elected Officials and County/City Leadership as well as economic development agencies, the Tennessee College of Applied Technology and Austin Peay University, and other regional education institutions.

While most of work focused on Fort Campbell, I worked with soldiers from other bases Like Fort Lee Virginia and Fort Leonardwood Missouri who wanted to take advantage of the Army Careers Skills program with training as industrial maintenance, CNC machinists, and welders.

Program Manager

Austin Peay State University

Organized and brought together the community industrial leaders from Google, Hankook, LG and other industrial powerhouses along with the regional educators and their leaders about how they can work to better align educational opportunities with industry goals. Presenting a picture of where we are and where we strive to be as a community through projected growth through 2030 to reach a population of 250K+. 
Presented a full inventory of regional education certificates, programs and degrees already available in industry fields.
Sharing the contact information for regional education, community and industry leaders in order to build relationships. So successful, follow on second and third year are in works.

Leading, directing and managing inbound and/or outbound supply chain operations to ensure consistent high level service quality and customer satisfaction, profitable, cost efficient operations, and compliance with company policies and procedures, ISO standards and Sarbanes Oxley requirements, and other regulatory guidelines. Models and acts in accordance with our guiding principles and core values. 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities: 
Lead, direct and manage inbound and/or outbound site operations to ensure that the operations staff executes service agreements at, or above the customer's standards.
Maximize profitability through superior customer service, effective and prompt communications and follow-up on all pending matters with the customer.
Plan and monitor daily staffing schedules, and adjusts accordingly to ensure adequate staffing levels that support operational demands and business objectives.
Manage revenue and expenses to budget constraints.
Ensure directives, rules and procedures are communicated to all operations' staff.
Ensure safety methods, practices and programs are implemented and maintained.
Ensure that freight is being moved in a safe and timely manner utilizing appropriate equipment and tools.

Utilize superior communications skills to motivate staff and develop effective working relationships with peers, executives and clients.
Manage and oversee administrative functions to ensure all paperwork is processed efficiently and in a timely manner and meets all compliance requirements.

Personally coach, train and mentor direct reports and provide career development opportunities through training and quality management activities.
Conduct annual performance reviews for all staff within department.

Keep abreast of emerging technology changes and innovations through formal or informal study, reading business and professional publications, networking and participation in professional organizations.
Perform other duties as needed.

Senior Operations Manager

US Army

Serves as a Subject Matter Expert in all aspects of combat service support operations at the US Army brigade combat team level (infantry or armor) with emphasis on developing sound logistics, transportation, and support plans consistent with the Brigade Combat Team commander’s orders and intent. 
Acts as lead facilitator assisting US Army brigade support company commanders and their staffs in a 6 – 15 day guided staff planning exercise designed to refine the unit’s internal planning procedures. 
Provides the battalion commander and staff with doctrinally-correct and timely “best practice” feedback throughout this period in order to improve unit planning, coordination, integration, and synchronization skills. 
Conducts reviews and provides comments on US Army and Joint doctrinal publications as directed.

Regional Director of Logistics

Manages and redistributes over $6.3 billion dollars of equipment as Senior Logistician for 3rd Infantry Division G4; directs lateral transfers, turn-ins, and requests for disposition of all major end items for four brigades and three battalions (engineer and combat aviation). Analyzes, formulates, and evaluates statistical data and reports to ascertain trends; translates and communicates those trends to assist in coordination with internal and external logistical activities and provides determination and findings to brigade and division staff personnel. Manages Division Command Supply Discipline Program (CSDP).
Serves as representative and spokesperson in communicating logistics program matters. Represents the senior logistics management specialist and higher-level officials at command conferences to advise on current and future status of the program. Serves as representative and spokesperson in communicating logistics program and analysis to the organization in the following program areas: Transportation, Facilities and Services, Personal Property Maintenance, and Supply. Analyzes and evaluates the effectiveness and efficiency of logistics programs and operations, and resolves difficult issues and problems.

Regional Asset Director

Maintained a span of control over seven subordinate battalions of a Heavy Brigade Combat Team (district) to prepare, conduct and recover from Logistical operations for a combat deployment in Afghanistan.; Provides technical supervision and assistance for BN-level support within the BCT; Operates in the BCT TOC to assist the S2/S3 synchronization of combat and sustainment operations; Provides Strategic, Operational, or Tactical level logistical support and assists with managing the overall logistic processes in support of mission objectives; Leverages existing networks and expandins others to meet operational requirements; Anticipates mission needs and operational requirements and offers alternatives and advice; Evaluates, redesigns and implements logistics processes for mission support as needed; Serves as Comptroller for the BCT and manages all Contracting Officer Representatives. Develops and implements programs to account for and maintain equipment valued in excess of $25 million. Responsible for contract preparation and is the Defense Supply Center of Philadelphia (DSCP) Prime vendor coordinator. Initiates coordination with other staff sections, higher headquarters, supporting units and other agencies to provide all aspects of logistical planning and support.

District Manager (Logistics)

Combat Service Support Observer/Controller (O/C) for the Warhog Team at the Combat Maneuver Training Center, Hohenfels, Bavaria. Trained multiple US Army Europe units, Coalition NATO partners and selected non NATO Units in doctrine, techniques and procedures with an emphasis on Battle Command. Provided timely training analysis and feedback. Emphasized integration and synchronization of all battlefield operatings systems at the Battalion/Company level. Maintain a level of knowledge and proficiency in doctrine to properly and effectively support up to 70 team members and augmentees in a contemporary operating environment.

Training Manager / Observer Controller

As a former administrator and director in the Department of Labor for Business Solutions in Tennessee, I worked with teams across the state to serve incoming and present businesses, source talent from transitioning military, and establish the first apprenticeship program in Tennessee. I have multiple certifications and honors in PMP, Lean Six Sigma, supply chain, and leadership, and I am always looking for opportunities to learn and grow.
