Erika Hanna is a highly accomplished healthcare and human resources professional with over 20 years of expertise in operational leadership, innovation, and community service. Since August 2024, she has served as the Manager of HR Service Operations at Penn State Health, where she oversees the Data Teams, HR Solution Center, and Employee Concierge Service department. In this role, Erika has already initiated transformative changes by leveraging cutting-edge technology, data-driven strategies, and her passion for excellence to elevate service delivery and foster community engagement. In her prior role as Manager of Interpreter Services at Lehigh Valley Health Network, Erika led a team of 42 interpreters, ensuring critical language access for Limited English Proficiency (LEP) patients through in-person, phone, and video services. Her leadership enhanced communication, streamlined workflows, and improved employee engagement, establishing the department as a model of efficiency and inclusivity. Erika also founded and co-chaired the Todos Unidos CARES group, establishing LVHN’s first Hispanic/Latino Employee Resource Group. This initiative supported Hispanic/Latino employees, promoted cultural awareness, and fostered a stronger sense of community. Erika made a lasting impact on workplace inclusivity. Born and raised in Ecuador, Erika pursued her academic goals as an adult learner, earning a Master’s Degree in Human Resources, Strategic Leadership, and Data Analytics from Cedar Crest College. She is also a Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certified and a National Board-Certified Medical Interpreter (NBCMI), credentials that underscore her expertise and dedication. Erika’s passion for cultural awareness is evident in her role as a Spanish professor at Penn State University and as a keynote speaker at DeSales University, where she has presented H.O.L.A. (Healthcare Organizations and Language Access) since 2022, emphasizing the importance of inclusive healthcare practices. Her career began in 2001 as a manager in NYC, where she successfully established and accredited three medical offices. Later, her entrepreneurial spirit led her to found West Penn Billing Services, LLC, a billing company that achieved collections exceeding $1 million, showcasing her financial and operational acumen. At PSH, Erika continues to innovate, using her expertise to push boundaries and deliver exceptional results. Her commitment to excellence, employee development, and advancing equity reflects her ability to inspire meaningful change and leave a lasting legacy.
