Provide feedback early in product development and at the quoting stage on how to improve manufacturability and product performance.

Prepare R&D timelines / projects laying out future simulation capabilities.  Such as extrusion water quench simulation capabilities.

Interface with material supplier to create accurate process material cards for aluminum alloys.

CAE Engineer III Aluminum Extrusion 

Kaiser Aluminum

•	Spearheading development of FEA modeling inside Kaiser Aluminum Extrusion Division
•	Devising steel and aluminum material cards from vendor data, production data, and material testing
•	Conducting FEA simulations to successfully launch new business and support continuous improvement of existing business using FEA modeling
•	Correlating FEA simulation to actual production trials to improve simulation accuracy
•	Producing Tooling and Process simulations of extrusion shapes using Inspire Extrude and Optistruct nonlinear
•	Preparing vendor CAD models for simulation, create 3D mesh and set up boundary conditions
•	Providing estimate of areas of tool breakage and wear using internally developed criteria
•	Directing tool vendors on implementation of improvements to optimize die designs
•	Preparing estimates to production floor of optimal process settings, and potential areas of manufacturing difficulty
•	Producing reports to communicate simulation results to the manufacturing facility as well as applications Engineering group
•	Orchestrating physical trails at Kaiser facilities and directly supervising as trial is conducted
•	Generating feedback to customers on their part designs, and suggest ways to improve manufacturability
•	Generating 4.5 million dollars in tooling cost savings through tool life improvement over first 3 years of single program life. With over 3 years left in that specific program.

Tooling and Process Simulation Engineer

Shiloh Industries

Leading the process development of a million dollar program, using MAGMA simulation software to predict the reaction of metal traveling through a steel die.  

Analyzed these High Pressure Die Casting simulations for solidification and filling.

Worked with R&D to simulate and characterize laser weldings, and advanced die castings using Flow Science Flow3D.

Directly works with the CAD designer throughout the CAD design process to assist them with implementing the required designs for HPDC components.

Predicted Porosity and other variables of those castings from those simulations

Works with sales to check potential programs for engineering feasibility, including draft analysis, thickness analysis and prediction of initial fill and solidification using Click2Cast.  Also preforms PQ^2 analysis for these programs.

Used MAGMA, Flow 3D, Altair Hyperworks, and Click2Cast and other CAE tools to engineer production designs

CAE Engineer

Tasked with creating reports and estimations on the uses of Magnesium in vehicle light weighting applications for the US market from scholarly articles and industry sources

Worked on Shiloh's Visco-elastic projects on the development of steel vibration dampening visco-elastic materials.  Preformed validation testing on a form of steel that is not currently approved for use with the material.

Worked with suppliers and 3rd party testing companies to test the condition of the current formula, using reverb rooms, oberst bars, T peels and Lap Shears.

Created prototype material to test using a adhesive roller, bake oven and platen press to create samples so they can be tested.  

Tasked with creating a report of all major dampening systems that could be used from existing research.  To be used to direct the development of a new product.

Worked on new product development with experienced R&D engineer.  From initial research to actual product development.

Volunteer

•	Mentored a second year FRC team, including both technical and non-technical aspects.  Work with many people of different backgrounds.
•	Involved in the teams creation, attended the first meeting between the teachers and mentors when deciding if the team should be formed.  
•	Helped the High School students win the Rookie All Star award at the District competition at Waterford Mott High School
•	Named as the team nominee for the Woodie Flowers award, an award celebrating mentors who lead, inspire and empower using excellent communication skills.

FIRST Robotics Mentor

University of Michigan-Flint

•	Principle homework grader for Assistant Professor of Engineering.
•	Was given the responsibility to fairly grade the homework of two engineering classes: dynamics and embedded systems.

Teaching Assistant

•	Principle undergraduate researcher for Assistant Professor of Engineering.
•	Designed and implemented a MATLAB SIMULINK code that added additional sensors to a self-balancing robot.  This included an ultrasonic, and line following sensor.  Presented the research at the Student Research Conference on University of Michigan-Flint’s campus
•	Using a development board, based off the HCS12 microcontroller architecture, created an alert program that would go off if a low voltage condition occurred.  Presented the research at the Meeting of the Minds conference at Oakland University.

Undergraduate Research Assistant

•	Held responsibilities in assisting an Assistant Professor of Engineering teach an engineering circuit’s lab.
•	Responsibilities included distributing and keeping accurate inventory of all test equipment.  Helping students learn how to operate their lab equipment, including a Digital Multimeter, DC power supply, Signal generator, and digital Oscilloscope
•	Assisted in troubleshooting both lab equipment and circuits for each individual student group.

•	Work in the store’s general merchandise department, as a sales floor associate.
•	Primarily in the store’s garden department.
•	Expected to arrive one hour before the Garden Center opens, and the rest of the department arrives, to facilitate the opening process.
•	Normally tasked with detail-oriented projects that required independent thought and initiative.
•	Expected to delegate and supervise other associates and run the Garden Center when management was otherwise engaged.
