This speech... wow. It's just so damn good. Natalie Smolenski explains why the ability to transact peer-to-peer is a fundamental underpinning of freedom. And freedom necessarily means freedom for both "good" guys and "bad" guys; or it doesn't actually exist. Because, as she explains, all good guys are bad guys to someone, and all bad guys are good guys to someone. But most of us know that the anti-Bitcoin rhetoric premised on its use in criminal activity is just pretextual anyway, simply because Bitcoin allows us to circumvent a lot of deeply entrenched interests that will try to scare us into submission - i.e. allowing state-adjacent third parties to be involved in virtually every aspect of our lives for the sake of “safety.”

Eradicating all crime would mean you’re living in a totalitarian or authoritarian surveillance state. Indeed, half of our Bill of Rights is dedicated to protecting those suspected of, charged with, or convicted of a crime. The Founders knew that true freedom actually includes the acceptance of some amount of criminal activity. So the point here is that Bitcoin, with its peer-to-peer network, is freedom money. Hallelujah. 🧡🧡🧡
