There are over 500,000 teacher vacancies in the United States And the crisis continues to affect communities disproportionately It is a problem of equity The decline of adults graduating with teacher degrees means they have their pick of schools to work for. Given the choice, they naturally gravitate towards schools that have larger budgets, better facilities, and prosperous communities. The rest of the schools? They are not just missing qualified teachers. They are missing entire subjects like languages and facilities like science labs Understandably, principals and superintendents are frustrated with what seems like an impossible crisis with few viable options. The reality is students everywhere deserve a quality education from exceptional teachers.
