I am obsessed with teams. What makes them tick, how to unleash the potential. And I want to help you learn what I’ve learned, to save you time and to be the mentor I wish I had. I grew this obsession designing complex systems as an Engineer and as a Program Manager running a $25M business for a demanding customer. Some of these teams I was in went well. Some went poorly. I studied the differences closely. And I documented many of the lessons in the first cultural document ever produced by General Dynamics Mission Systems called The Leadership Expectations which I co-authored. I co-founded an onboarding boot camp which has accelerated the path to productivity for over 500 new hires. I’ve co-founded a community organisation with launched a food truck rodeo proving food was an exciting reason to come to work, which initiated a recompete of our cafeteria services. I ran our post-COVID return to work program, convincing the executive team we should retire an old building with a large maintenance debt in favor of a newer building.
