How many times do you beat yourself up for a post that didn't perform well?

I used to allow other people's opinions get under my skin.

But they're outside my circle of control and worrying about it undermined my true creativity and abilities.

Their praise wasn't sustainable either.

Because there's always going to be a hater, a challenger, a cynic that doesn't like your work.

Your taking away your energy, your, worth, your true intention.  

The power isn't in their validation. 
The criticism is crushing!

So, I stopped allowing that to happen. How?

It lies within you, with your intention.
Your validation of your own work is internal.
If you want to take charge of your own confidence, it's time to shift it to the internal. 

Here's how I make myself bulletproof from criticism and helped myself develop my own inner wisdom.

I Create an intention.
I Take action. 
I Put all my energy, expertise, and effort into it. 

You can too!
Can you do your best without allowing the inner critic to bring you down? 
Great! 

Now, you can let go of the need for others to praise your work. 
That's gravy.

What matters most, is your inner wisdom.
Develop it using this method, and you will see amazing results.

I didn't like being call "Heavy Evy" every day when I walked into homeroom. When I was a teenager, I woke up one day and decided things were going to be different.

I also didn't like feeling lousy about myself. I woke up one day and said, today is going to be different. I would think differently.

I would get up at the same time everyday and run 3 miles. I would eat to live instead of live to eat. I would believe that I was the person I wanted to become one day at a time.

Every day, I woke up and reminded myself that I was one day closer to where I wanted to be.

I was in charge. I changed what I wanted to believe about myself first.

Then, my words, thoughts and actions started to support the new belief system. I lost 25 pounds that summer and shot up 4 inches, change my haircut, and started wearing glasses. 

It was a powerful time in my life because I decided to be in the driver seat to pursue the life I wanted. Are you ready to get in the driver seat?

What's the price that we're paying for technology that makes life easier? 

I was pushing the button in an elevator the other day and marveling at the technology and manpower used to make such a convenience. 

It's a wonderful tool but what impact is it having on my health?

It got me thinking, when choosing technology or convenience over the effort to change my lifestyle, what impact is it having on my health? 

I am always looking for ways to live my life with convenience but with intention. But maybe there is such a thing as too much convenience. 

And the cost of making it easier might be killing me. 

If I consider making a change in my lifestyle, do I decide to take the convenient way or try another way?

Let's break it down to 3 different approaches to change.

1. The "elevator" approach
2. The "jump out the window" approach
 or
3. The "stairs" approach

When looking to change, most people use these 3 main approaches.

1. Take the elevator-

This approach is a convenient way to get where you want to, but there's little effort involved. 

Usually, the change is temporary since you've invested very little skin in the game. 

There's little motivation to change for good when you only have to push a button. 

You know you can always use the elevator if you find yourself back where you started.

Someone has to spend a lot of money to build and maintain the elevator, though.

2. Jump out the window-

If you want to change fast, this approach works well, but there's a catch. 

When you reach your goal so fast, there are usually negative consequences. If you're on the ninth floor and you want the fastest way to get to your car in the parking lot, jump. Unfortunately, gravity doesn't care if you know it exists or not. It won't be a pretty site.

3. Take the stairs-

It is old-fashioned, works well, and it requires a certain amount of effort, but when you get where you want to go, you've earned it so you own it. It might seem daunting at first to tackle nine flights of stairs, but after you set your sights on the first landing, take these first few steps you're nearly halfway there.

Besides the obvious players, Apple and Fitbit (owned by Google), there are some new companies that are expanding our options that include sport tech, health-monitoring devices, fitness activity trackers, connected exercise equipment, and smartwatches. 

Have high blood sugar levels? A Japanese startup is designing a bracelet that continuously monitors your glucose levels without a finger stick.

Want to check your hypertension? A Swiss company is using your smartphone camera to measure your blood pressure by putting your finger over the lens.

A French company is using algorithms to calculate your heart rate, respiratory rate, and blood pressures from a selfie!

These body-minding wearables can provide valuable health data, but do you think that they are blurring the line between well-being and stressful obsession?

What are the reasons you aren't increasing physical strength and activity?

More than 75% of Americans don't get enough exercise!

Do you do bodyweight, aerobic, and strength exercises for at least 150-300 minutes per week?

Using just your own body is the best and most convenient way to increase physical strength.

It's the sitting all day that's slowly killing us!

Yard work, biking, pilates, and workout videos can all make a difference in your mental acuity, risk of chronic diseases (like diabetes), and your mental health.

Get some weight training three times a week, too.

Increase your activity and you will be making deposits in living a longer and healthier life.

Get a high-protein diet with plenty of fiber, too.

Focus on a balanced lifestyle.
