The EIC SME Instrument provides more than €2bn to support top-class innovators, entrepreneurs, small companies and scientists with funding opportunities and accompanying services to scale up and accelerate their innovations onto the market.  

All sectors are represented, from health to agriculture to space to manufacturing.

As entrepreneur and communications professional, I serve as one of the members of an amazing group of experts who take the final decision on allocation of the funding.

HACK BELGIUM

We’ve been creating outstanding hackathon experiences since the very first Startup Weekend Brussels in 2011.  And we’ve been helping corporate customers use hackathons for energizing employees, changing corporate culture and creating outstanding new products.  We strategize, plan, communicate, and facilitate hackathons.  
 
And we also made Hack Belgium happen - world's first Hack Festival. The most ambitious event of its kind, Hack Belgium is part-conference, part-hackathon experience for nearly 1000 people.  

Second edition of Hack Belgium will take place in April 2018.

Startup Weekend Brussels

Back in 2010 Ramon Suarez and I co-organized the very first Startup Weekend in Belgium.  We pulled it off with practically no money and practically in no time; but was fun so we did it again.  Since then I've co-organized two more Startup Weekend events, served as a Mentor and Facilitator in three.  

And, I joined Startup Weekend Ghent as a Jury member.

It was very interesting to go back to proper consumer marketing (oh, how I had missed it!).  It was also a great experience raising my first seed round (EUR 100,000) from a Business Angel, and looking after the nuts and the bolts of the business.
