Utilising a decade of experience across financial services, The Lending Lab is an innovative mortgage brokerage that helps people to home ownership.

We have a flair for the complex, a passion for educating people and a commitment to doing what's right by our customers.

We put out regular video content to help teach Australians about finance.

With a desire to get back to more tangible work, I took the leadership position in managing and developing the mortgage brokerages for central and west Sydney.

Leading a diverse group of brokers from various levels of experience, backgrounds, and stages of their business through the challenges of Covid-19 and the chaotic opportunity of the biggest property boom in decades gave me tremendous insight.

Coming full circle from previous roles, the idea of consolidating all my skills, experience and passions into my own business finally took root.

Regional Leader - Sydney Central & West

After my time leading managing teams of mortgage brokers, I was promoted to help lead, develop and support the national sales network.

Leading a cross-functional team, I represented the broker network in key projects to help drive results and deliver better customer outcomes.

Senior Manager - National Sales Operations

From my success leading the mobile broking channel, I was charged with managing the retail franchise stores and a group of experienced mobile brokers for SA/NT.

Leading more established and complex businesses was a welcome challenge in which I was highly recognised.

Through my time in this role, I lead experienced mortgage brokerages to grow their businesses, establish or scale their operations and become leaders within their businesses.

I was highly recognised in this role as a leader within the business.

Business Leader SA/NT

After my individual success as a lender, I was brought into Aussie to lead and develop a team of self-employed mortgage brokers.

I recruited, coached and mentored a diverse team of brokers from those with 15+ years experience to others starting their first day.

With a focus on delivering great customer service, building the knowledge and skills of my team and a focus on culture, I built a thriving team that was recognised nationally.

Mobile Business Leader - SA

As a Business Banking Manager, my role was to manage, grow and develop a portfolio of business clients. My clients were a diverse spread of industries, sizes and ownership structures.

This encompassed cash flow lending, commercial and residential property, trade finance, merchant facilities and asset finance. I was able to handle commercial lending up to $1m per customer.

I thrived on the opportunity to work with more established and complex businesses and loved the challenge of helping them grow.

Achievements:

🏆 Appointed to the King William St branch, the flagship ANZ branch for South Australia.
🏆 Delivered customer interview roleplays to ANZ staff as a result of being recognised as a role model for demonstrating excellence in customer service and sales
🏆 ANZ’s national representative and key point of contact for a major franchising group for all new franchising finance opportunities.
🏆 Coaching state managers from the major franchising group on how to engage and develop their staff in identifying finance opportunities.
🏆 Nominated as a “Change Champion” for a new loan platform. A select group of high-performing front-line bankers were chosen to take part in the pilot and provide insight and feedback during its development

Business Banking Manager

This was a pivotal role in my career. Using the sales skills I refined in previous roles, and I was now able to apply this to a fast-paced and complex professional role.

My role was to meet with small business owners who were seeking business loans, equipment or vehicle finance or working capital.
I found a love of helping a customer to grow their business, understanding how their business operates and thriving in the detail of business plans.

I quickly established myself as one of the leading Small Business bankers within ANZ.

Achievements:

🏆 Ranked 1st in metro South Australia and 2nd overall for South Australia
🏆 22nd Nationally for total business lending. 143% of my target in my first year
🏆 Achieved target within my first half, an exceptionally rare achievement

Small Business Specialist

My role as a Personal Banker was to conduct customer reviews with a holistic nature to customers. This involved understanding their goals and position to provide recommendations and implement solutions. 

This role gave me a great grounding in understanding banking, customers' financial goals and challenges.

During the latter part of my tenure, I was designated as a specialist in self-employed customers allowing me to conduct business reviews for small business customers and implement small amounts of pre-approved small business credit limits.

This experience allowed me to overachieve my small business target by 480% and opened the opportunity for promotion as a Small Business Specialist.

Achievements:

🏆 High performance with an average of 153% of target over 1H15
🏆 Private wealth excellence award for my work with high-net-worth clients, which resulted in significant new business. Alone this exceeded the combined target for the entirety of SA for the period.
