As a passionate advocate for Black women in healthcare leadership and health equity, I am dedicated to driving meaningful change in the industry. My passion for advocacy was instilled in me early on by my family. They taught me to stand up for what I believe in and that everybody deserves to be heard and respected. Not surprisingly, the only fights I got into as a kid were standing up to other people’s bullies. They were always bigger than me, I always won. 💪🏾💪🏾 Today, I harness this passion by developing creative DEI solutions in the business landscape. With a diverse skill set in creative problem-solving, strategy, leadership, emotional intelligence, and executive coaching, I have successfully advanced DEI initiatives and facilitated growth for individuals and organizations. As an Improvement Program Manager and DEI Champion at UChicago Medicine, I've achieved remarkable results, including a 150% increase in Black leaders in IT within a year and implementing a mentorship program that led to 40% of participants being promoted. One of my most significant accomplishments is establishing a formal sponsorship program focused on advancing Black women to senior leadership positions As the creator and lead of this program, I leveraged my expertise, credibility, and influence in the organization to secure championship and funding from Executive leadership. I also developed an innovative framework that included building inclusive leadership capability for senior-level executives. By collaborating with hospital executives and fostering meaningful connections, we have been able to transform culture and promote health equity. In addition to my professional achievements, I am the founder of a groundbreaking conference dedicated to empowering and promoting Black women in healthcare leadership. This platform enables industry professionals to engage in critical discussions, share experiences, and work collectively toward a more inclusive and equitable future. My dedication to advocating for Black women in healthcare leadership and health equity is further demonstrated by my numerous speaking engagements at conferences and webinars. These events allowed me to share my insights on topics like sponsorship, male allyship, workplace culture, and advancing health equity. I am well-equipped to continue driving change in the healthcare industry. Join me in my mission to foster a more inclusive and equitable future for Black women in healthcare leadership and beyond.
