On December 31st 2022, my agency reported over $300,000 in sales. In April 2023, I lost it all. 5 months is all it took me to go from Cloud 9 to rock bottom. And I can only blame one person for this setback: Kanye West. You see, I spent the entirety of 2021 and 2022 serving as a fractional CMO for several micro-SaaS companies. My clients produced software tools you'd use to purchase highly-coveted sneakers for a discount. Sneakers such as adidas Yeezy's that you'd buy for $220 and later resell for $500-1000+. And as a fractional CMO, I helped software companies: ✅ Generate over $2.5M+ in revenue organically with $0 spent on paid ads and distribution ✅ Build marketing funnels to drive traffic from Twitter (X), Discord and blog SEO into their email list ✅ Expand their network of partners by deploying a team of sales reps to establish strategic relationships ✅ Rank on the first page of Google for several high-volume industry keywords My clients were happy. So was I. Everything was going smooth as butter. Until October 25th, 2022 came and Adidas made this announcement: We "will stop the adidas Yeezy business with immediate effect". This occurred after controversial remarks made by Kanye. Which meant my clients' products no longer had utility. And the industry started to crumble... FAST. One by one, my clients filed for bankruptcy. Everything I built disappeared into thin air. It left me twiddling my thumbs, wondering: "What next?" Well, to my surprise, a lot can happen in two years. I spent the better half of 2023 and 2024 rebuilding my agency's foundation and in the process: ✅ Built over a dozen LinkedIn funnels for B2B companies and agency owners ✅ Worked with fast-growing SaaS companies, including ListKit, Smartlead, and HeyGen ✅ Designed 50+ animated videos and websites for SaaS companies and agencies ✅ Created two short films that went viral (and won Lara Acosta's $1,500 LinkedIn Challenge) And, in 2025, I plan on creating several more LinkedIn short films.
