Day 106/366

You're the farmer...

And you determine what fruits you'll reap.

"But Favour how would I know the fruits I'll reap when I don't even know the seeds I've got to plant?"

I'll help you out with that:

Your thoughts, words and actions are seeds you directly/indirectly sow into the harvest of your future.

So think about it...

If your thoughts are seeds, then what thoughts are you thinking about yourself, others and everything around you?

If your words are seeds, then what are you saying to yourself, to others and to everything around you?

If your actions are seeds, then how do you act towards yourself, towards others and everything around you?

Remember, fruits are only a  mature replica of the seeds.

On the flip side...
Be quick to uproot any negative seed another farmer plants your land (your life).

Don't accept words that don't correspond with who you want to be...
Don't internalise memories of negative actions taken towards you.

Remember, you're the farmer...

And it's your job to uproot unwanted plants and protect as well as nurture the plant you're grooming.

Day 107/366

Just another day to try again.

Day 8, Day 63, Day 97 and every other day from Day 1 till date all have one thing in common..

And that is: the reason why I decided to show up on this space.

I once told a friend about my decision to dedicate the whole of this year, to learn how LinkedIn works.

Added to that, another goal of mine is to learn the art of consistency, which will eventually rub off on other areas of my life.

Is there a bigger picture as regards why I'm here on LinkedIn? Absolutely!

But everything else is built in the foundation of knowledge and consistency.

I understand that mastery is attained by repetition over a period of time....
So I see everyday as an opportunity to try again...
And to keep trying untill mastery is attained.

My words to you and every other person who wants to attain mastery:
Identify what has to be done.
Stick to it. Keep at it. Don't stop trying.

And if you try and don't succeed...
Do well to try and try and try again, on a daily basis...

Until the results you desire becomes your daily reality.

He can do more than you can think...

Hey my gee...

Today's the 5 days of the 5th month in 2024...
Time isn't running; time is literally flying.

Anyway...

I wanted to write to you about something I've been experiencing lately...

But a more important lesson came to mind....
A lesson I believe you should never forget!

In the last 18 months, I've come in contact with several shades of challenges...

But in and through all these challenges one factor has remained constant: God's faithfulness!

Today I want to remind you that no matter how crazy and hard life can be...

Never limit God's ability to the level of your intellect.

God is able and willing to do more for you than you can imagine.

So even on days when it doesn't make sense to the physical eyes and it's impossible to the natural mind...

Never limit God.
For with Him, all things are possible!

It may sound cliché to others...
But it's an absolute truth, one that has been proven again and again...

A truth that can become your daily reality as long as you don't lose faith.

Always remember that God can and will do much more than you ask or think.

Success isn't as complicated as you think.
(Discover how you can be successful in EVERY area of your life)

After pacing under the moonlight for a few minutes...

I picked up my phone and decided to read through a section in my notepad titled "Behind The Scene Notes To Self"

As I scrolled down, I took time to think about some of the things I had written.

It continued that way till I stumbled on the secret to succeeding in any and every area of life.

It's nothing complex or complicated.
It's simple yet profound!

This secret is just two sentences, made up of 10 words.

It reads thus;

Don't be lazy in learning.
Don't be sluggish in execution.

For every form of success you desire in any area of your life, two things are required;

Study and practice.
(In that exact order)

You want to be happy?
Study happiness. 
Then practice its principles.

You want to build wealth?
Study money.
Then practice its principles.

You want sell like crazy?
Study sales and human behaviour.
Then practice the principles that you learn.

You can add to the list.

For whatever result you desire...

Diligently study the principles that govern such results...
Then repeatedly practice these principles until you get what you desire.

A truth you probably never knew...
Until now.

Two days ago, I shared with you the reason why I decided to show up on LinkedIn this year...

I also added that there was big picture regarding my journey on LinkedIn.

Today, I'm going to share a bit of that big picture with you.

I've got a message I want to share with the world, here on LinkedIn, as well as other online and offline platforms.

It's a truth I discovered in 2022, when I decided to rebrand my services as a Sales Strategist.

This message is one I hope you'll never forget:

Competition is an illusion.
You were created to dominate!

The idea of competition stems from the concept of scarcity...
And this concept is man-made.

The earth was created in a state of abundance, so why compete for something that's actually more than enough.

There's so much to be said...
But for today, keep this with you:

Like they say...
The sky is big enough for every bird to fly...

But let's leave the sky for now.
Humans are yet to exhaust the land mass that we've got in the world.

Every iconic city we have today was either once a desert or a forest...

But they've become places of attraction because certain people decided to break out of the crowd and go elsewhere to maximise the abundant resources that has been made available.

My point exactly??

Stop thinking competition...
Start thinking dominance!

There's always an opportunity yet to be tapped...
There's always a problem yet to be solved...
There's always a solution yet to be created...

Break out from the crowd!
Stop thinking scarcity...
Start thinking abundance!

Day 113/366

Does every opportunity come but once?

One of the headaches I have when I move to a new location is finding a barber who can handle my hair properly.

I've had heartbreaking experiences in the past, so I'm super intentional about who cuts my hair.

I had to deal with that headache again last year September.
A barber was recommended and I had my fingers crossed.

This guy was fast!
He's probably the fastest barber to have cut my hair in the last ten years.

I think he was trying to cut short the time it would take for him to break my heart!💔🤧

Long story cut short, that was the first and last time I went there for a haircut.
It took me 8+ weeks to have my hair back in shape.

For him, that was the only opportunity he had to win me over as his customer...and he lost it.

But then, do all opportunities come just once?

Here's what I think:

Opportunities come at different times and in different forms.

While some opportunities may repeat themselves or come in another form, others are lost forever.

So here's what I'd suggest you do whenever you see an opportunity that's worth taking:

- Shoot your best shot.

- Take whatever result you get as feedback;
Cos sometimes, your best may not be good enough.
(Maybe that was the case with the barber)

- Fully maximise whatever opportunity you get and adequately learn from the ones you lose.

- Most importantly, keep your eyes open and your hands prepared for future opportunities.

Whether they come once or repeatedly, make sure you make the most of the opportunities that come your way...

And a simple way to achieve that is to get prepared, even before they come.

Hey champ,

A quick question for you:

What would you do when you've got sleepy eyes, exhausted brain plus a tired body...

And there's still an important task to crush for the day?

Would you shut down for the day and give your body the rest it deserves...

Or would you push yourself one last time and get that task done, despite the inconvenience... 

Knowing that afterwards you'd give your body the rest it deserves whilst feeling fulfilled?

If you opt for the first option...
It's completely fine. That's what the average everyday person would do.

The second option however is what differentiates between everyone else and those that truly succeed in whatever they do...

And to those actions are a result of COMMITMENT.

Commitment is what pushes successful people to show up on the inconvenient days and get the most important things done.

Commitment is more than just a choice...
It's a decision to go all out and do what needs to be done, against all odds.

If you must succeed in any area of life...
Then commit to doing at least one thing that'd push you closer to your goal, every single day.

That's how extraordinary results are obtained.
That's how sustainable success is achieved.

Do we all have to build on LinkedIn?

These days...

You don't need to scroll for too long before you see a "don't give up", "keep pushing", "stay consistent" post here on LinkedIn.

No doubt, these posts are great and also necessary...

But don't you think it's also important that we let people know it's okay to explore other options?

That they don't necessarily have to win on LinkedIn before they actually get tangible results for themselves and their businesses.

That it's perfectly fine to temporarily shut down their LinkedIn account and put their energy on another platform that gives them better leverage and result.

Just the same way you'd agree that you don't have to live in the USA to become a multimillionaire...

Just the same way you'd agree that not everybody has to do tech before they can flourish financially...

I guess you'll also agree that not everybody has to build on LinkedIn before they thrive in their careers...

And that it's important to encourage people to:
- Explore their options.
- Find out what's best for them.
- Make the most of what they've got.

I'm not saying these things to discourage you from building on LinkedIn in any way...

The goal however is to get you to reconsider the reason why you're building on LinkedIn...

And to also push you to intentionally carry out a SWOT analysis...

So that you can identify your greatest strengths and you biggest opportunities and focus more on them. 

Who knows, you may just find out that LinkedIn isn't where you should spend most of your time.

Have it at the back of your mind that your life and story is dynamic...

Your path is also different...
So stick to it UNTIL you get to your desired destination.

Day 112/366

Do you have a track record?

It's easy to admire people who get outstanding results for themselves.

But then...
You must understand that massive results don't happen suddenly.

Every highly celebrated person have one thing in common:

They all have a track record!

Let's take Tunde Onakoya for instance:

He set a world record, playing chess for 60 hours straight and got over $100k donated to his non-profit organization in 3 days.

But then, he didn't just come out of nowhere...
He's got a track record:

- Started playing chess at since when he was 10 (he'll be 30 in October).
- Used chess to gain scholarships to school in a polytechnic.
- Became a gold medalist at the Nigeria Polytechnic Games and the RCCG Chess Championship.

- Won the National Friends of Chess and the Chevron Chess Open amongst others.
-  Recently, he simultaneously played against 10 chess players, and he beat them all!

With this, it's no longer surprising that he crushed the world record, is it? 

What does this mean for you?

Simple;

For whatever huge result you want to get in life or business...
Start building a solid track record.

It works in two ways.
Building a track record helps you acquire the skills and habits needed to grow and thrive.

Secondly, it makes it easier for you to sell yourself when you're brought before you're ideal audience.

Your track record could literally do all the hard work for you and all you'd have to do is close the deal.

If you could, would you?

If you could travel back in time to correct your past mistakes, would you?

If you start life afresh and live everyday knowing what you know now, would you?

If you could relive past memories and spend more time with the people you miss, would you?

If you were to ask me the questions above...
My answer will be the same for all;

One word, consisting two alphabets: NO!

I've learnt to take responsibility for everything I've done prior to this time...

I've learnt to accept my present reality as the consequences of past actions and inactions...

I've learnt to embrace everything that happened, as an integral part of the person I'm becoming.

I don't want to relive my past...
I want to create a better future...
And I want to do so by making the most of the present.

Your past is history, and it can never be erased...

Your future is currently being written, and it can be created, exactly how you want it to be.

In the last two years, I've chosen a month in the year to publicly share the lessons of my past as a letter to my future self.

I used WhatsApp to do so in these two years but I couldn't document these lessons...
This year, I've decided to use LinkedIn instead.

From May 2nd to May 31st, I'll be sharing these lessons to my future self and to you as well...

And I hope that like other lessons I've been shared so far, they'll help you effectively navigate through life and business challenges...

Until you get the results you desire.

Things can and will definitely get better...
For you!

No phase and season of life lasts forever.

You can learn to prepare for the opportunities of spring during winter...

You can learn to maximise your harvest gotten in autumn to help your soar over the hardship of winter.

Bad can become good...
Good can become better...
Better can become great...
Great can become greater.

Embracing this truth will help you stay strong during the hard times...

And inspire you to achieve more, after a particular goal of yours has been met.

Even if you believe nothing else this week...

Day 110/366

It was at exactly 1:37am...

I had decided to check on Tunde Onakoya's progress so far on his quest to break and create a new chess world record.

As I followed through...
I saw a video where his friend was encouraging him, using a line from a popular motivational video.

It was late in the night...
His eyes looked like they needed to be shut for long hours.

His face expressed fatigue...
But through his tired eyes...
You could see the desire to keep going, no matter what.

It was in that moment I was reminded that the real work that produces record breaking results isn't soft, rosy and easy going...

It is challenging...
It is braintasking...
It is energy demanding.

No one sees you in that moment...
You don't get any recognition in that period...
You'd probably have no one to encourage you while you're at it.

While at it...
You won't look great...
You won't even feel great at times...

But it is the work that must be done to make your dreams a reality.

Whatever that 'work' is for you...
Please keep at it....
Please don't run from it...

Don't let the glamour you see on social media blind you from the reality of the sacrifices made behind the scene.

If you must break your own records and live the life of your dreams...
Then you must focus on doing the 'dirty' work that produces the most admirable results.

Day 120/366

Is it realistic to stay happy always?

Happiness;
A state of wellbeing and contentment.

Is it really possible to remain in such state all the time?

Honestly, I don't think so.

But what I know is this:
You can be genuinely happy, most of the time.

I can say that for sure because that has been my experience in the last two years, inspite of the challenges, heartbreaks and setbacks.

You're wondering how that is possible?

It is, when you understand these two things:

First, you must understand that happiness is a choice, and for it to be sustained, you must create your own happiness.

You should note however, that there's a thin line between being genuinely happy and acting like you're happy.

And that's where the second phenomenon comes in;

The most stable form of happiness is GRATITUDE.

The beautiful thing about gratitude is that it doesn't disregard your challenges and struggles...

It rather fixes your focus on the positive things going on for you.

Gratitude is how I've been able to go to bed completely worry-free almost every night in the last two years.

Although, it may be impossible to stay happy 100% but by consistently choosing to be grateful, you can express genuine happiness 90% of the time (or even more).

Lessons from the moon, under the moonlight.

Do you remember when you were done with your primary education...

And how without struggle you transitioned into secondary school, because it was time?

Have you ever sat under the beauty of a full moon; especially in a place filled with palm trees?

You probably haven't, but you've surely seen the moon shinning at its full strength.

It usually a magnificent sight to behold.

Anyway...
You know the moon isn't always full, right?
In short, there are nights you don't even see it.

But gradually it begins to appear, little by little, one day at a time...

And at the right time, it shines the brightest, beautifying the earth with its dynamic light.

My dear friend,

There's no doubt you've got potential...
There's no doubt you're full of light...

But then, it feels like no one sees you...
If feels like you're not getting the recognition you deserve...

You can learn from the moon:

- It doesn't struggle to shine.
- It takes every opportunity to shine its 'little' light until its big day comes.

- It doesn't compete with the sun, cos it understands it is created for a different time.
- It waits for its time.

Just because the world doesn't see you now doesn't mean there's anything wrong with you.

In your moments of obscurity, you can take a cue from the moon:

- Understand that you time will surely come.
- Until then, keep shinning your light in whatever capacity that you can.
- Stop comparing yourself with others...

The sun shines when it should, so does the moon and so will you!

Trust me, when your time comes...
You won't need to struggle or lobby your way to get seen...

Your light will be revealed effortlessly....
And the world will be grateful that you shone when you did.

Day 125/366

The balance between rest and work.

Hey my gee, 

In yesterday's letter...

I spoke to you about commitment, which many times requires you to get important things done against all odds.

Today, I want to strike a balance.

I think it is important to know what commitment isn't.

- Commitment isn't stretching yourself to a point where you break down.

- Commitment isn't acting beyond your capacity, taking up tasks that are way off your limit.

- Commitment isn't settling for less when you have the capacity to do more.

The idea is simple...
You commit to what you prioritise.

So if you prioritise rest...
Then you should commit to getting the rest you deserve, against all odds.

And if rest isn't on your list of priorities, then that list might just be a ticking time bomb.

Maybe some other time I'd write more about the concept of rest...

Because I think there is a number of misleading talks as regards the concept of work and rest.

Here's what you should know though...
The principle of the work-rest balance is simple:

You're to rest only after you've done your MOST IMPORTANT work!

Take note of he phrase; 'most important'.

Writing to you yesterday before going to bed was one of my most important work for the day...

So even though I had sleepy eyes, and was feeling exhausted and drained, I still had to write to you, cos I made a commitment to do so.

Thereafter, I took out time to rest.

You see...
It's all about getting your priorities right.

Make sure you give priority to resting as much as you give priority to working, as they're both important to achieving your ultimate goal.

Remember...
Get the most important work done; then rest adequately afterwards.

Heaven knows I've tried.

I remember how I started.

My LinkedIn content were short and precise.
I honestly don't know when and how things changed.

I guess I became more expressive.
Which for me, is a sign that I'm getting quite comfortable on this space.

Gurus, experts, and top creators have repeatedly suggested that you keep your content short, straight forward and most importantly, readable.

These days, I can't seem to keep my content short and precise.
Heaven knows I've tried!

After creating content consistently for the last 114 days, here's what I'll suggest you do:

Explore. Review. Improve. Repeat.
(Apply this to every creative aspect of your life)

- Explore your creativity and style.
- Review results of each approach taken.
- Improve on what's working. Cut out what isn't.
- Repeat the process. Don't cage your creativity.

I recently found out Jasmin Alić  uses over 8 different styles and formats for his content.

But you're not Jasmin and you don't have to be him.

In short you don't have to listen to me or the gurus and suggestions we've given.

Just express your creativity....
Till you figure out what works best for YOU.

The idea is to be YOU and to do YOU!
That's the surest way to soar above the crowd and thrive in both life and business.

Success is predictable; you don't need a prophet!

(Here's how to become successful in EVERY area of your life)

Hold on a moment.
Don't just skim through this post.

I know you've read, heard and watched many content regarding success.

Honestly...

What I'm about to share isn't something entirely new...
But it is a reminder of something you should never forget:

If you JUMP up, you'll come down.
But if you GROW up; you'll stay up.

(You might want to read that again).

I understand you're want to be successful...
And you want to be successful as quickly as possible; which isn't a bad thing.

But then, which would you prefer;

To get massive results at once, and lose it all in a period of time...
Or to get compounding results and sustain it for years to come?

Like I said, success is predictable...

All you have to do is identify the principles that must be CONSISTENTLY followed over a period of time to get the results you desire.

You want more sales?
Consistently attract quality leads.
Consistently nurture your leads with content.
Consistently offer tailored solutions to their problems...

And you'll make sales for yourself, consistently!

Simple but not easy, right??
And that's because growth isn't easy...
But it is predictable and sustainable.

The question now is this:

Are you ready to ditch the 'get it now' mindset for the 'grow it now' mindset, so that you can achieve sustainable success for yourself??

Remember;
If you jump up, you'll come down.
But if you grow up; you'll stay up.

Day 118/366

Which would you rather choose...
Progress or Perfection?

So I was trying to develop my content idea for today...

After trying to come up with a suitable introduction to the lesson to no avail, I gave up on the whole idea.

As I discarded the idea, I immediately remembered an incident that occured during the week.

A creator had finally decided to put up her first content here on LinkedIn...

I was really excited, and my comment didn't fail to convey that.

She later reached out not long after, saying she thinks she made a mistake, cos she had posted her content without using a picture.

She asked if she should delete the post and my response could be summarized as this:

Choose progress over perfection!

I made her understand her first post didn't have to be perfect, that she could let the post stay and put up her picture on the next post.

She eventually deleted the post and said she was going to repost the content the next day.

It's been over 56 hours, and she's yet to put up any content.

I may be wrong, but I think if she had kept that initial post...

It would have given her the momentum she needed to make her second post, her third and so on.

You see, the quest for perfection is one that could eventually lead to stagnancy.

It's perfectly fine to start where you are with whatever you have and show up in the best way that you can.

So if you currently have something you've been procrastinating for a while...

Here's another reminder for you to choose progress over perfection...

And with constant repetition of the right skills, you'll get much better results as you progress.

Keep this at heart as you go into the new week and the new month.

It's the biggest lesson I've learnt this month.

Do well not to forget it.
Remind yourself about it frequently; morning, noon and night.

Let it always ring in your head that irrespective of what life throws at you...

YOU'RE THE MASTER OF YOUR EMOTIONS!

As you already know...

You can't control the things life throw at you but you can definitely control how you respond to these things.

This new week...

Be intentional about the emotions you nurture.

If it doesn't correspond to the personality you want for yourself in the long run, then don't dwell on it for so  long.

The truth is;
You can choose to be happy even in the midst of chaos...

You can choose to be at peace even when you're faced with a storm...

It's all on you.
It's all about the choices you make.

You're the one in charge..
And you can give power to whatever emotion you think needs to be expressed.

Remember...

Your emotions influences how you act and behave, which means, it also influences the results you get.

So take charge of your emotions...

And consistently choose and accept the ones that'd influence the right actions, which will eventually bring you the biggest results.

One time last year...

I was asked to speak at an event...
And all I had was 10 minutes.

"What could I possibly say in just 10 minutes that'd hit home and impact my audience?" I asked myself.

I kept searching for an answer, which finally came one night when I was going to bed.

The lesson I shared that day is what I'll share with you today;

If you want to get undeniable results for yourself, then do this; Live Your Life On Repeat!

Most of the things you can do now is because of the repetition of certain activities you've indulged in over the years.

So to get undeniable results for yourself in any area of life, here's what you should simply do:

- Identify the exact activities that produce the results you want.

- Create a system, structure or schedule that helps you consistently carry out these activities.

- Consistently repeat and master these activities UNTIL they begin to produce the results you desire.

That's how you get undeniable results for yourself, by simply living life on repeat.

There's no kind of result this principle cannot help to produce.

So make the most of it for the remaining days of this month and beyond.

I trust that you will get amazing results for yourself!
