My mission is to educate and support the venture ecosystem through data driven equity management. Working in start-ups is a rollercoaster at the best of times, but one fact drives team cohesion above all - we're aligned through shared ownership. A company full of owners is one which solves problems together, grows together, and reaps the rewards of all that hard work together. Given this, what's the point in having an options plan if no one knows what it means? At Carta, we handle everything equity and options related; providing founders, investors and employees with visibility of their ownership on the cap table. I believe every stakeholder in a private company should understand exactly how their ownership may impact their financial wellbeing. At the end of the day, they've injected capital or energy into bringing this business to life, they should know where their investment stands! My role's partnering with VCs, being a sounding board around all things equity, supporting their team through cap table training, data insights & simplified reporting through the power of Capdesk. I'm an energetic, curious individual who's passionate about solving complex problems, supporting others and getting shit done. Accountability, ownership and honesty are pivotal to the way I work. When not supporting businesses, you'll find me walking in Kew Gardens, going to a ridiculous amount of concerts, climbing mountains, skiing down them and actively practising being a better bloke.
