Some events remind you exactly why you do what you do.
One Young World is one of those events.

This year, I had the privilege of hosting the entire Closing Ceremony in Munich, guiding the audience through the opening, the key moments, the transitions, and the final celebrations.

An experience I will carry with me for a long time.

One Young World is not just another global summit. It’s a movement built to empower the next generations of leaders to take on humanity’s biggest challenges. And since its inception in 2009, OYW Ambassadors have already impacted more than 13.7 million people around the world.

Sharing the stage with Kate Robertson and David Jones, the founders behind this mission, was a powerful moment. Their vision and commitment to young leaders is something you feel instantly.

The Closing Ceremony brought that same energy to life.

I’ve followed Terry’s journey for years. Being on stage with him was special, he brings a warmth, honesty, and energy that elevates the entire room whether it is at AGT or at One Young World. He is always a phenomenal human being, both on and off stage.

The audience at BMW Welt was unforgettable. From the opening to the ribbon-bowl ceremony to the final celebration, the atmosphere was electric, purpose, joy, and connection all in one space.

I’m truly grateful that One Young World, BMW, and the City of Munich entrusted me with hosting this moment. It was an honour to guide this global community through such a meaningful evening.

As we approach the close of another chapter, the words we choose carry weight. 

It’s not just about what happened, it’s about what it all means and where we go from here. 

Some moments deserve more than a summary, data or a generic “thank you”.
They deserve reflection, intention, and a message that resonates.

“Fall in love with the problem, not the solution.” 

Yesterday at the DOERS Summit I shared the stage with Uri Levine, founder of Waze and Moovit. A guy who didn’t just build one unicorn, he built two. 

And the man walks around wearing a shirt with one line printed on it: 

“Fall in love with the problem, not the solution.” 

Simple. Direct. Almost annoyingly true. 

This sentence stayed with me, on my way home. 

Because if I’m being honest, I have been in love with my craft. 

The workshops.
The coaching sessions.
The frameworks.
The delivery.
All the solutions.

But the real problem I should be obsessed with is much more uncomfortable: 

A lot of leaders have ideas worth listening to, but they communicate them so poorly that nobody pays attention. 

Not because they’re not brilliant.
Not because the ideas aren’t relevant.
But because the message doesn’t land.
The body language is off.
The voice lacks presence.
And the audience politely disconnects. 

And that has a cost: 
Opportunities slip away.
Someone less experienced speaks with confidence and gets the moment. 

That’s the part that really bothers me. 

Because I work with executives, government leaders, senior directors, people who have responsibility, vision, and influence. 
And too often their message doesn’t reflect their capability. 

So maybe this is my shift or maybe it’s just finally naming what’s been there all along: 

I don’t want to be in love with public speaking as an activity.
Or coaching as a product.
Or frameworks as the shiny packaging.
I want to be in love with the problem: 

Helping leaders make their ideas impossible to ignore. 
Because communication isn’t a “nice to have” 
It’s the skill that decides whether your ideas live or die. 

When communication works, things change. 

So thank you, Uri for the reminder. 

From now on, I’m not refining the solution. 

I am chasing the problem until it’s gone!
