At the age of 12 I taught my granddad how to make a website to host family photos on. 

Full built in html and hosted on our own server (a desktop which we couldn’t turn off anymore 😂).

It was around that time that my love for code, automation and marketing must have started.

Due to puberty I neglected this 'skill'. 

At the age of 23 I tried to get in at a local marketing agency. It's where I started doing SEO. And after a while Google Ads crossed my path.

I have never let it slip away. And immediately tried to outperform all my colleagues who where in the business for a long time. 

Wasted a lot of Ad spend doing so. 

When Google Ads scripts got my attention I was 25. I used and edited existing ones and I learned a lot, the performance went really well. 

After some years working at the agency I took some time off traveling. When I returned I started FloBoost as a freelancer. I used my agency experience for my clients, started working with automations and I did lost of courses to become better at marketing and tracking.

After a while an old colleague called me and asked me to help at their agency. They 'won' a big client and it needed growth / improvement. I have to say that I learned everything at that one account.

In the end they offered me a great full-time position, I declined. 

For two reasons:

- I knew for a long time building my own company was a dream. 
- I knew some agencies we're cowboys and I wanted to change that.

After a year hustling around I needed a break, we went to Sri Lanka in feb. 2022. I hired a few freelancers to manage the clients/accounts and project management for me. Thomas van Miert was one of them.

When I came back I knew this was the start of an agency.

Somewhere at the end of the summer 2022 I started sharing knowledge and Google Ads scripts. As well as in different PPC communities and here on LinkedIn. It boosted my (personal) brand a lot and I got more requests than I could handle.

3 more specialists entered FloBoost around January 2023.

In May 2023 I decided to rebrand to 'Flowboost' and to take Thomas van Miert on as a partner. I am very happy he took the opportunity. Together with him and other specialist we're building amazing marketing companies.

In January 2024 we’ve acquired 50% of the shares in backlink.nl which is the most transparent linkbuilding and PR platform in NL.

Fast forward to 2025 we’re with 13 FTE and 21 people in total, just a crazy ride is already is.

We've tested PPC fraud blockers, and this is the result...

It's gonna shock you.

Wait for it !

While they mention 3,000-5,000 Euros saved, we saved only 50,- 

And even the 'good' tools that auto submit an issue to Google and ask for a credit don't show more than 50,- credited.

If one of those clicks actually buys something in the future it's even worse, since lifetime values are often higher than that.

I would only reconsider using a PPC click fraud tool if they would charge based on actual money credited (hint, hint).

Not just in on a fee per month.

Google Ads is one element of a successful business. It's part of the P of promotion, and it amplifies everything. 

The good and the bad (and the ugly).

A loss making company will become even more unprofitable. While a very successful company will thrive with simply more traffic alone.

That's one of the reasons why I decided to create an agent.

We've started experimenting last year Q2 already.

We realize we were one of the first and hit rock bottom a few times too many. Luckily we've learned a lot, more than we can imagine. Thanks to Victor Gerbrands the Wolfy services are hosted on a state of the art cloud environments in Europe (go Europe) with multiple layers of security and redundancy.

And with success, Wolfy already has 10 happy Beta users.

We are good to go.

I felt I was under water for 3 months... 😑 

But now I am ready, and Wolfy is too.

Work has always stressed me out a lot.

I just can't deliver something that isn't perfect.

Not that I am perfectionistic, no. 

My house can be a mess, I delivered horrible reports when at uni and I am always late with presents...

To name a few.

But when it comes to helping businesses grow, I want to be the very best. And so does team Flowboost.

We're not the biggest agency for a reason and we could have grown much faster. But we want to deliver the best campaings and performance.
