Product Growth Lead

Led and built a team of 5 people responsible for sales and growth while still wearing many hats all the way from product to customer support. 

Led the transformation to Product-led Sales. We quickly learned the team was more efficient to support product qualified users and that growth would come naturally from the product and our marketing activities -> hence my natural move to the fascinating world of Product Growth.

- Managed 2 SDRs, 2 AEs, and 1 CSM.
- Introduced a product-led sales motion with automatic classification of PQLs to help focus on and nurture the most relevant leads.
- Positioned the product for exponential growth when COVID hit through product marketing (e.g. webinars with 300+ people).
- Reached 100,000+ registered users and 12,000+ laboratories.
- Implemented customer.io to automate lifecycle marketing journeys. Focused on onboarding, nurturing, and feedback collection journeys.
- Implemented Intercom and oversaw customer support and success.
- Actively participated in the rebranding of the core product.

Sales/Growth Manager

- Joined as the 1st full-time employee doing sales/business development.
- Used cold email and Linkedin outreach to build awareness and relationships (open rates above 60%, reply rates of 10-12%).
- Held 60+ product demos with lab managers and entire research teams.
- Brought on board more than 40 academic accounts.
- Responsible for customer support and user onboarding.

Co-founded an AI-powered startup mentoring project called Insight. Leveraging Artificial Intelligence, we came up with Startie: an empathy-driven mentor bot available 24/7 for every early-stage entrepreneur and startup. Our business model consisted in providing free mentoring to startups and acting as filtering as a service (FaaS) to help VCs, angel investors, accelerators, and law firms derisk their own business.

Self-proposed a master thesis project entitled: “A perfusable 3D printed device for scalable cultured meat production.” Awarded a grade of 20 out of 20. Main results: - A functional bioreactor device capable of maintaining cell viability in a 6mm thick muscle tissue. - A beef cultured meatball made from differentiated bovine satellite cells. Main activities: - CAD design and 3D printing of cell culture compatible bioreactor devices - Mammalian cell culture of bovine myoblasts and satellite cells - Primary cells isolation and culture establishment - Fluorescence-activated cell sorting (FACS) cell population purification - Metabolic activity and cytotoxicity assessment - Use of hydrogels as scaffolding materials for 3D cell culture - Immunofluorescence analysis - Bioreactor prototyping and testing

Full-time erasmus+ internship at Elly Tanaka’s lab optimizing the CRISPR/Cas9 system and searching for novel ubiquitous promoters in axolotl. Supervised by Dr. Prayag Murawala.

- High-throughput genotyping of CRISPR/Cas9 edited animals. (Process Automation, Next Generation Sequencing and use of bioinformatics tools such as CRISPRESSO)
- Optimization of RNA Pol III promoters to drive gRNAs expression.
- Molecular cloning 
- In vitro and in vivo transfection of CRISPR systems.
- Development of a baculovirus delivery system.
- Generation of knock-in and knock-out animals to study muscle regeneration.

Visiting Researcher

I've worked as a trainee in Prof. Claudio Sunkel’s lab at i3S, Porto, Portugal. I learned along side Dr. Carlos Conde, studying the mechanisms of Cell Division and Genomic Stability in Drosophila Melanogaster. I gained expertise in DNA Extraction, PCR amplification, Western Blot, SDS Page, Southern Blot, Optogenetics, Cell Culture, Cell Transfection, Imunnofluorescence and Image Quantification.
