I've seen so many trendy words in the management world... Among some, claiming to be AGILE, has become the norm. 

❌ A meticulous plan set for the next 13 Sprints? That's not Agile, that's our dear old friend, waterfall development, dressing in Agile's clothes.

❌ Months of Sprints before a single client deliverable? That's not agility. That's way longer than what we expect from "continuous feedback".

❌ Taking up to 24 months to roll out an MVP? That's hardly the lean approach that Eric Ries championed in his Lean Startup.

Exec sponsors who lead change get confused by us.

Because they aren't specialists.

They aren't a ‘change practitioner’ who nerd out on change talk all day. They have a business to run.

But the still need to lead the effort.

And if they’re leading, why do we call it change “management”?

This isn’t just a semantic debate, either. Words have power and maybe we (change managers) are confusing matters?

So here are 4 other ways to talk about change.

Words which mean near-enough the same thing, but which might give execs and sponsors a bit more access to what is really needed from them.
