Did you know that 73% of Danes believe that politicians make short-sighted political decisions? 

Never in recent history has it been more important for people and organisations to better navigate uncertainty, build futures optimism and create meaningful change.

We therefore conducted this survey to explore the thoughts, concerns and expectations of Danes in regards to their future.

💡 82% believe that political decisions are non-sustainable sticking plaster measures, for the next 10-20 years. 

💡 75% are scared that we won’t solve long-term problems.

💡 62% think that long-term visions takes up too little space within politics. 

💡 72% respond that it would affect their perception of a political party positively if they presented long-term visions.

💡 56% of Danes agree, that it would be a good idea to have the future represented in a political organ.

These are some of the key insights of the survey done among adult Danes. There is evidently a great appetite for futures thinking and political visions among Danes. 🔭

Creating an Integrated Vision for a Compelling Future

Well said! I happen to work with long-term strategic planning teams (15-30-years) and the ability to plan effectively that far in the future is...paradoxically...a function of deep diagnosis. Why?

Shorter horizon planning falls into the regular routine of everyday problem-solving. Executives and boards are well practiced in this process.

However, when asked to imagine a future 15-30-years out, a new silence falls. Part of it is based on a lack of prior experience. Another reason for the silence is that most C-Suiters have never thought that far ahead for more than an instant. Two days of thinking in this realm seems like an eternity. So now...we can be at a blank canvas in most people's minds, and that of the team's shared imagination.

From this rarely accessed space, a creativity which is free from the constraints of the past, becomes possible.

* According to economist W. Brian Arthur of the Santa Fe Institute, “every profound innovation is based on an inward-bound journey, going to a deeper place where knowing comes to the surface”.

This quote you offered is quite appropriate, but the diagnostic process I am talking about comes before conception. It's a pre-requisite.
