As the CEO of Life Science Animation, I lead a team of 30 professionals, including many with PhDs, dedicated to transforming complex biotechnologies and life sciences into engaging, easy-to-understand animated videos.

Our mission is to make science accessible to everyone, not just scientists. We specialize in producing high-quality 2D and 3D science animations, Mode of Action (MoA) videos, and videos that explain scientific concepts "in a nutshell." 

We handle every step of the video production process, from the initial script to the final storyboard, design, and animation. A key part of my role involves scouting and hiring the industry's best medical illustrators and scientific writers who can distill complex scientific ideas into compelling 2-minute scripts. This skill is rare and invaluable in explaining science in a way that's understandable to a lay audience. Additionally, I focus on business development and networking to ensure our team remains at the forefront of the industry.

I oversee the production of each video to guarantee that our content is scientifically accurate and accessible to people without a scientific background. We aim to demystify science, one animation at a time, ensuring that each video bridges groundbreaking scientific innovations and potential investors or the general public.

My son's been sick for 4 weeks. Modern medicine? Has no answers.

Then Grant messaged me yesterday:
'Try onions with honey - old Eastern European remedy.'

That evening, Emilia was in the kitchen preparing it. Our son watched, curious about this strange medicine.

Yet here I was, hoping grandma's recipe would help where modern medicine couldn't.

The German word is 'Hausmittel' - home remedies passed through generations. No clinical trials. No FDA approval. Just centuries of mothers saying 'this helped.'

𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗱𝗼𝗻'𝘁 𝘄𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘀𝗲?

• No patent potential
• No billion-dollar market
• No investor interest

But honey has antimicrobial properties. Onions contain quercetin, an anti-inflammatory. The science is there, just unglamorous.

In biotech, we animate complex mechanisms. But sometimes the simplest solutions have no mechanism to animate. Just trust built over generations.

Did it work? Too early to tell. He's still sick. A hospital visit might be next.

That's what I always thought.

Until Poland taught me otherwise.

Before moving here, I never joined demonstrations.
Why bother? Politicians decide. We live with it.

𝗕𝘂𝘁 𝗣𝗼𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗵 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲? 𝗗𝗶𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆.

When they disagree, they take to the streets.
Not hundreds. Sometimes just a handful.
And things change.

Last week was 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗣𝗔𝗡𝗗𝗔𝗦 𝗗𝗮𝘆.

My wife Emilia organized something beautiful -
the illumination of a famous Krakow bridge.

She couldn’t even be there.
From the hospital room, she watched the bridge light up on her phone, holding my son’s hand, happy.

About 10 parents showed up.

My old self would've said: "10 people? That's nothing."
But I was wrong.

Those 10 parents standing on that bridge?
They're the beginning of something bigger.
Every movement starts this way.

𝗔 𝗳𝗲𝘄 𝘄𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻 𝘄𝗵𝗼 𝘀𝗮𝗶𝗱, "𝗲𝗻𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵."

Now it’s spreading worldwide.
Health systems are slowly recognizing PANDAS -
a rare autoimmune condition affecting children after strep infections.

Next year, there might be 20.

Who’s your “Emilia” - the person who quietly makes change happen?

A few weeks ago, a client I’d just finished working with passed away unexpectedly.

We were supposed to meet on a Monday to debrief his company’s animation. Instead, I received heartbreaking news.

It hit hard - not just because we’d worked together, but because he seemed healthy and full of energy.

Then, two weeks later, my kids’ doctor mentioned losing a friend to a heart attack after sports.
In his 40s.
It reminded me of my own friend who died at 30 - he’d lost weight, started running marathons, seemed healthier than ever.

Like Elizabeth Melone, they had no warning signs. But unlike her, they didn't get a second chance.

I never had that debrief with my client.

But you still have time for your next check-up.

Strategic Communications for Biotech Industry

Before August 29, I had never been tested for lipoprotein(a) or ‘L-P little a’. In fact, I had never even heard of it. 

I now know that Lp(a) is a dangerous lipid that promotes inflammation, accelerates arterial plaque buildup, and drives clot formation. A high level of Lp(a) puts you at high risk of heart attack and stroke. You can have absolutely no discernible heart health risk factors (as was the case with me) and still have high Lp(a). 

Had I been tested, I may have been able to avoid my recent shocking experience of ambulance transport to the ER, an advanced atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD) diagnosis out of the blue and two multi-day stays at Massachusetts General Hospital, including three trips to the cath lab, all within the span of three weeks. 

I know I am very lucky I avoided a heart attack or heart damage – others may not be so lucky. 

There are no approved treatments – yet – for high Lp(a), but there is a robust pipeline of promising drugs in clinical study. For now, if you know you have high Lp(a) you can at least be monitored and put on a regimen to try to mitigate whatever risks you may have.

High Lp(a) is estimated to impact 1 in 5 adults. So, this is far from a rare risk factor, but it is rarely tested in the U.S.

I wanted to share my story (see accompanying article below) because I feel a profound sense of responsibility to raise awareness of Lp(a) so that others aren't blindsided the way I was. 

Feel free to share this with others and consider asking your medical provider to order the simple Lp(a) blood test. If I can unknowingly develop ASCVD because of Lp(a), anyone can!

That's a different expertise entirely.

So I'm sharing Peter's call for those who 𝗗𝗢 have these skills.
Who know how to reshape public opinion.

We’re launching a campaign to Resolve the Massachusetts Paradox and it requires more than science. It requires stories.

What’s the paradox???

In Massachusetts, home to world-leading biotech, voters cheer when politicians promise to slash drug prices—even though this same industry discovers cures and powers the local economy. Imagine if Californians demanded Congress lower movie ticket prices, or if Michigan voters called for price controls on cars. It doesn’t make sense, but it happens because people are angry that some patients can’t afford medicines.

That anger often gets pointed at drug inventors. But here’s the truth: the affordability problem isn’t created by inventors… it’s created by how insurance works…. or doesn’t work.

* Insurance exists so people can afford appropriate care when they need it.
* Yet, after paying premiums their whole lives, patients are forced to pay again when they get sick.
* That frustration spills onto biopharma, spurring calls for price controls that would turn investors (not just billionaires but everyone) away from funding innovation.

We need to tell this story better and drive attention to insurance reform while creating a dan base for American biomedical ingenuity… and that’s where you come in.

Biotech is filled with gripping narratives:

* High-stakes races against time (think *Mission Impossible*).
* Stories of families and scientists fighting against impossible odds (*Lorenzo’s Oil*, *Extraordinary Measures*).
* Global crises and breakthroughs (*Contagion*, *Outbreak*, *Turning Point*).

But we also need satire and comedy. Who better than Hollywood creatives to expose the absurdity of charging a chemo patient a copay? Or to ask why insurers talk about patients needing “skin in the game,” as if someone would fake cancer to score chemotherapy?

This is serious work, but it doesn’t always have to be serious storytelling.
