From the early days of computers, I've found myself enchanted by them. A neighbour took me to his job at Stork, where they had harddrives the size of refridgerators. I had another neighbour who had a home computer and I came to his house to see what was up. Played games (very simple kinda text based trading games), but I was hooked. In school we had Tandy TRS80 machines and I started to translate a Star Trek game into Dutch by just going through the listing and editing everything. Then I took home the manuals and read them and wrote a 4 page program on my typewriter, gave that to the math teacher and was like " will this work"? And he gave me the keys to the computer room. Then I got my C64 and I was hooked. After some "wild hair" years, I landed a job as a technical drawing dude at a utility company doing IT on the side. Then I went rolling into Novell, later started my own company doing Windows 98/NT/2000 and then worked for a software company who specialized in work force management. I had some dark years after that because of the bankrupcy of my own company, but I got back on the horse and landed a job in mainframe operating. A computer is a computer right? Bits are either one or zero. Now I'm in a top notch company and I'm getting challenged every day. Computers are so much fun.
