To say that development is a passion is an understatement for me. It gives me the creative freedom to design a new UI for a website or an application, or create an application completely from scratch. It allows me to automate whatever I please using algorithms, and allows me to create for other people. One of my biggest passions is creating tech that aides the user in some capacity, whether it be with its convenience or its usability, or optimizing the efficiency of algorithms while decreasing run time for a smoother experience. I've always had a curiosity when it came to technology. In elementary school, I was introduced to the computers with online math games. In middle school, my teacher brought my class to the computer lab for English classes for essays. But in high school, they had the class that would change my perception on just how complex a computer could be, and how far you could take it: computer programming. This is where my love truly began and flourished. I finished in the top 5% of that class, and decided that development was what I was going to do. During this time, I came across something that also pushed the narrative of wanting to be a developer: the overly-complicated, under-designed, unusable UI's of some websites that I was coming across. It would upset me that a website that I needed to use had an interface that was so convoluted, so once I reached high school and entered computer programming, I had an idea; I'll just do it myself. With this, I came up with the overall goal for my programming, which is to make everyone's life a little easier with my developments. To put this into practice, I entered into a competition with two friends where we needed to come up with a family based application and present the idea, and the winners would be awarded 5000 USD to develop the app. My group and I won the competition, and brought our @Family communications app to life. I've also built a new library website for my university which is more organized and efficient than the one they use. Although throughout my journey thus far, I have learned how to optimize, stay organized, be curious, and be a leader, I still am a huge learner and am always open to learn new tricks and tools to add to my knowledge to put towards my goals. There is never a better time than now to continue to learn and to evolve your craft, and the more I learn, the more lives I can improve with my work.
