Head of Curriculum and Training International

As Head of Curriculum and Training International, my responsibilities include leading and overseeing two divisions. The Curriculum Department is responsible for creating the international, award-winning curriculum in our preschools in USA, UK, UAE, India, and China. I bring to my role as Head of Curriculum International a deep-rooted passion and commitment for child-centered, responsive, and adaptive education that ensures high educational standards that help each child achieve their full potential. 

In my role as Head of Training, I lead and oversee our international training division, which creates, delivers, and facilitates all-encompassing training solutions to fulfill the training and development needs of all our international teachers, center directors, franchise partners, and more at the above locations. Furthermore, I develop and deliver Masterclass Training courses to our Lead Teachers, Headteachers, and Center Directors.

My dual role allows me to effectively support staff development across a wide variety of geographic locations, and to sensitize educators and educational leaders to current and future global trends and developments in Early Years education. 
The creative and responsive use of educational technology in my role ensures that all our learners benefit from our training program and that we cater to their learning and training needs.

As part of my role as Lead Trainer for Asia, I was responsible for overseeing Kïdo Education's employee training and development activities. I was also expected to perform various tasks that included identifying training needs for the organization, training and supervising other trainers' work, and developing effective employee training programs. Other duties and responsibilities included coordinating with the various country teams regarding staff training requirements and schedules, developing and maintaining training information and the online LMS system, and coordinating and reviewing the logistics of training materials. 
Other responsibilities included:
- Utilized an "analyze design, develop, integrate, and evaluate process" for training courses.
- Produced web-based training courses, LMS curriculum setup, videos, photos, and other training materials.
- Assisted with learner support issues including training platform access, certificate issuance, and more.
- Delivered training on Kïdo curriculum, operation-related subjects, child development, and global educational best practices in a face-to-face, or online format.
- Trained and mentored on-ground center directors, head teachers, and other buddy trainers in curriculum implementation.

Lead Trainer Asia

- An active part of the setup of the nursery.
- All aspects of Human Resource management for both teaching and non-teaching staff. 
- Interviewed and on-boarded teachers and office staff for the smooth running of the nursery. Hired and trained 100% of the current workforce. Conducted 10-20 hours of training per term. 
- Develop an environment that encourages open communication with colleagues, parents and the community resulting in a very low number of complaints through constant face to face communication.
- Ensuring compliance with Ministry of Education, Department of Economic
Development, Civil Defense, Dubai Health Authority, and Dubai Municipality requirements in terms of licensing and inspections.
- Ensuring all visa and employment processes for staff in accordance with Dubai law are maintained.
- Development and monitoring of policies and procedures.
- Monitoring enrolments and adjusting in the marketing and advertising efforts according to the needs.
- Marketing and advertising – Devising the termly marketing plan along with the Parent Liaison Officer.
- Designing, planning, and managing parental and publicity and marketing events, and open days.
- Updating of the Nursery Prospectus, Parent Handbook, and Staff Handbook.
- Social media presence.
- Complaints management.
- Contract management and management of external contractors and suppliers.
- Set up of frequent school events that encourage parent involvement and parent volunteer opportunities (Teacher for the Day, Parent Story Time, etc. initiatives).
- Dedicated team builder and consultant on personnel issues and organizational development resulting in only losing workforce to external circumstances.
- Planned termly marketing events through developing programs for internal and external parents, networking and building community relationships.
- Timetabling of all levels and learning areas.
- Developing Camp Programs and schedule staffing.

Kids Cottage Nursery Mirdif (now Step by Step Nursery - Mirdif)

- Setting up the newly opened nursery. 
- Interviewing, hiring, and training of staff. 
- Taking inquiries, performing nursery tours to prospective clients, 
- Admission and payment process. 
- Marketing and advertising of the nursery. 
- Curriculum enhancement and development. 
- Providing administrative support for day-to-day operations. 
- Discuss and Implement strategies for generating inquiries, and enhance enrollment 
- Record keeping and data management.
- Temporary Registrar duties until position was filled. 
- Planning of nursery calendar 
- Meeting statutorily compliance as per the ministry guidelines i.e. Programs, Safety, Hygiene, etc. - Supervision of all academic & administrative activities like Newsletters to parents, Staff meetings, PTM’s, Teacher evaluation, Teacher Professional Development, recruitment and further training of staff members, curricula implementation, etc. 
- Develop and implement work calendar schedule for staff 
- Maintain policies and procedures for program operation. 
- Encourage and provide opportunities for team building and staff collaboration
- Plan and execute special activities, celebrations, parent classes, and other extracurricular activities 
- Being part of the management committee consisting of the Nursery Owners and other Nursery Directors 
- Vendor management/ ordering of resources/ stock management. - Liaison between the Owners, the Nursery staff, and the Nursery
families.
- The Nursery uses the English Early Years Foundation Framework inspired by the Reggio Emilia Approach, so promoting awareness and curriculum implementation throughout the Nursery were among my duties as well.
- Development and implementation of Art Curriculum.
When I left the Nursery, it was almost at full capacity with 10 operating classrooms.

School Director

The Children's Garden Jumeira

The Children's Garden has a unique approach to early childhood education and has developed its own curriculum ICLCA (International Curriculum of Language and Creative Arts). I have worked as KG1-KG2 academic coordinator (sort of a Head Teacher), art coordinator, KG1-KG2 English Homeroom Teacher, and participated in curriculum development. My duties included creating daily/weekly/topic/yearly plans for the KG1/KG2 section, supervising and holding meetings for teachers, supervising and developing the art curriculum, and addressing parent complaints and concerns.

Pre-School Teacher and Coordinator

Creative Primary School's Kindergarten

Responsible for 120 students and a teaching team of 3 for the KG1 level. Planning of activities, curriculum development, refurbishing the school's English department and curriculum. Online classes during closure for swine flu, in-house publishing of classroom resources, graphics design, and editing of self developed curricula books.

KG1 ESL Lead Teacher and Curriculum Developer

Learning Habitat - Laguna Verde Campus

Class management, English teaching, and class teacher duties (decoration, ongoing assessment, etc.) of a class of 30 and of 11 K1 level children. Special phonics classes (English Adventure) taught with the Letterland approach. Curriculum enhancement for both the bilingual classroom and Phonics program.

K1 English - Mandarin Class Teacher and Curriculum Developer

Topkids Anglo Chinese Kindergarten/International Pre school/Play School

As part of an AIESEC Educational Internship Program, I was awarded a full-time teaching position at Topkids Anglo Chinese Kindergarten/International Pre school/Play School. Class management, English teaching, and class teacher duties in the International Kindergarten section of the school (decoration, observation, and ongoing assessment, etc.) of a class of 25 K1 level children. Special phonics afternoon classes taught with the Letterland approach. Curriculum enhancement for both the bilingual classroom and the phonics program. Later on ESL teacher for the Anglo-Chinese Kindergarten section of the school for 4 classes of varying age groups.
