I've had the good fortune of having three careers; first as a tax auditor with HM Revenue & Customs, then as a tax consultant in private practice and then in-house tax roles. My third career commenced in 2011 when, on qualifying as a solicitor, I set up my own multi-disciplinary firm, providing tax, legal and HR services to individuals, business owners and professional advisers. The combination of a background in accountancy, tax and the law, combined with running my own business and employing staff, has provided a useful insight into the trials, successes and tribulations my clients face, creating the opportunity for me to take a wider, more insightful look at their instructions when providing advice.
