- Ensure that the girl’s section, players, coaches, team managers are adequately supported to create and maintain a pathway of ‘home grown’ players through to the senior section
- Build and develop game plan to suit the strengths and weaknesses of the team (with input from all coaches). Ensure game plan is continually reviewed and adapted based on the context and circumstances (abilities, injuries and availability) Engage team in game plan and ensure they implement in games
- Develop thorough training plans for season aligned to game plan. Plan and distribute detailed session plans to develop the team individually and collectively to achieve goals set out
- With the players, team manager, coaches create team standards/charter and goals
- Ensure coaches are suitably qualified with relevant DBS and First Aid certificates
- Maintain links with players leaving for university and develop strong relationships with partner clubs

Rugby Development Officer

This involves being part of a 12 person coaching team that runs squad development from the 1st XV to the 5th XV ensuring that they are challenged to keep their place at the highest level but also encouraged to strive to be in the highest level possible. Along with the other coaches we work with all different backgrounds to give maximum effect in each season, this includes 1 on 1 training, team analysis and player progression.  I have found working with the 5th XV and Fresher’s particularly rewarding as they have completely different outlooks on Rugby, some for the social aspect and others team progression.

Monitor programme delivery to ensure it meets the needs of the players and the objectives of the programme.
Ensure that the DPP coaches are using benchmarking in providing on-going individualised practice plans and feedback to all players within the programme.  Continually self-reflect on own coaching practice and monitor & evaluate the coaching practice of others to challenge delivery with an aim of improving player experience. This involves assisting planning the coaching programme for the season and responsibility for the relevant outcomes. It involves analysis of the games throughout the season using different forms of technology and giving feedback to the players involved, the role involves me dealing with people from different backgrounds foreign players as well as local players. A lot of time is spent managing the player liaising with Head Coach, Physio and the director of rugby to prepare the team to maximum effect.
