Station Manager

Responsible for managing Windows Domain Controller server and Debian Linux audio streaming server. Upgraded the core workstations to modern hardware and integrated with the Myriad playout system.

Recorded live sessions, including weekly sessions for the Jazz Society show. This required ingenuity, as limited resources meant that equipment had to be spread between extremely different bands.

Also responsible for running live outside broadcasts, culminating with the annual inter-university sports day coverage. Each year the coverage was improved to include roving reporters, social media integration and live editing for a half-time highlights trail.

In 2008 I won the Most Dedicated Member award, before going on to become Station Manager.

As a Tech Op I was responsible for ensuring advertisements were played out with to-the-second precision. I was also responsible for giving pre-recorded shows a natural feel by crossfading track introductions underneath vocal sections while backfilling to ensure shows did not overrun or underrun
