Lead Module Engineer

Identify and promote innovation ideas within the engineering department. Identify and review new processes and/or designs for patentability. Liaison with the patent engineer and lawyer of the Innovation group located at the global headquarters in Germany.

Innovation Group Liason

Represents engineering as a member of Material Board Review Board in assembly, preproduction and production environments. Formulate, analyze, substantiate and document dispositions for non-conformances.

Module Design Engineer III / MRB Engineer

Design Engineer III / Economy Short Range

Assist Project Engineers in all scope of work, from component design until production build of seat. Participate in design review meetings and/or telephone conferences with overseas engineers and program management. Perform drawing and model checks according to company standards. Create and review bill of material for aircraft seat components and assemblies. Complete root cause analysis on MRB actions. Performs risk analysis with certification team members.

Design Engineer III / Business Class

Primary responsibility is assisting Project Engineer for the successful completion of engineering projects within the definitions of airframe manufacturer, FAA regulations and company requirements. Solely responsible for design coordination of seats and seat components and on time completion of engineering layout, assembly and detail drawings.

Interact with client's to determine design and certification aspects meet customer expectations in conformance to company/FAA standards. 
Design/Modification of new plastic components (Injection molded/vacuum forming), castings, and machined/sheet metal seat components components using CATIA V4 & CATIA V5 CAD software as specified by customer. 
Preliminary design validation using DMU. Studying and creating proposals for new product/product enhancement.
Preparing Layouts and Skeletons to create and manage complex assemblies using top down design approach to support PDR, CDR, and FAI.
Verify integration of IFE and all BFE (buyer furnished equipments) onto seat assembly per Boeing and Airbus specification.
Prepared and reviewed Advanced Material Lists (AML), Common Parts Lists (CPL), weight report and cost analysis for the new seat design.
Coordinated efforts with program management, certification, tooling, prototype shop, manufacturing and purchasing/logistics for on time delivery of new/developemental component.
Support certification department for static and dynamic seat testing.
Support production line through design modifications and integration of product improvements.

Manufacturing/Customer Support for Boeing Twin Aisle
Provide engineering support for Boeing 747, 767 and 777 acquisition, design, manufacturing, assembly, and delivery of section 41. Implement all approved change activity - Customer Introductions, Customer requested changes (MC's), and committed (PRR's) and uncommitted design change. Investigate and implement design changes/improvements to resolve Non-Conformance (NCM), Corrective Action Required (CARs'), Engineering Liaison Request (ELR) and Supplier Request For Assistance (RFAs'). Support accident / incident investigations (Customer AOG). Work with Materiel to assist suppliers in achieving cost objectives for their products. Work with Production Operation Specialist to implement/improve assembly time and efficiency on design for manufacturing projects. Support new and derivative programs such as 777 Freighter and 747-8 Freighter. Use CAD software (CATIA V.4) to perform fit, form and function analysis before implementing engineering change.

Contract Structural Design Engineer @ Spirit Aerosystems

Began training on CATIA Version 5's Machining packages. Primary responsibilities to provide NC programming. CAD system administrator duties was added by the end of 2003.

Responsibilities
Develop 3D models from drawing and digitized data. Make and/or apply engineering modifications and drawing changes. Design experience includes skins, frames, electrical brackets, harness, sheet metal parts, formed parts and machine parts. Reverse engineering from data digitized from CMM machine. Develop tools including check fixtures, mill fixture, drill templates, assembly fixtures, stretch form, hydro form, and draw form tool to support manufacturing. Assist production planning in implementing product changes. Provide NC program for 5-Axis Mazak and SNK; 3-Axis Hurco, Kitimura and Mazak vertical mills. Provide software administrative and maintenance support for CAD system (Windows based). Developed and managed the implementation of ICAM's CAM-Post post-processing for all CNC controllers and machine tools.

Design Engineer / CAD system Administrator

Assigned to primary support of projects from The Boeing Co., Bell Helicopters and Lockheed Martin. CAD Systems administrator duties was added to my responsibilities during the downturn by the end of 2001.

Responsibilities
Conduct research concerned with design, manufacture and testing of aerospace electrical components, equipments, and systems under close supervision of senior engineers and program management staff. Determine design fit and function of the electrical components/equipments/systems by utilizing CATIA software. Also assist in the evaluation of operational systems and recommend design modification to improve product and efficiency. Maintain and update CATIA Version 4 on IBM AIX servers and workstations.

Position function includes; supervise a group of 4 engineers and drafters, assignment distribution, provide training and solutions to technical questions regarding the project.

Part of a team sent to The Boeing Co's Everett plant on Industry Assist program. Assigned to the 767 Equipment Installation Group. to support the acquisition, design, manufacturing, assembly, and delivery of the aircraft. 

Responsibilities:
Include converting and updating Mylar/CAD drawing to CATIA. 
Creating detail and assembly/installation 3D parts to verify design fit. Provide support for customer introduction and product illustration. Design custom wiring for customer-request equipment. Manage & implement all approved change activity - Customer Introductions. Support accident / incident investigations. Implement common parts and design solutions. Develop and approve test plans and Engineering Work Authorizations (EWA)

Industry Assist

Began training on CATIA Version 3. Assigned to a team providing DMU service to The Boeing Co's 747 program on CATIA Version 4.

Responsibilities:
Create 3D solid modeling representation from 2D data. Apply Drafting skills to the creation of sheet metal, extrusion, machined and formed parts. Participate in the layout and detailed drawings and schematics of structural components such as wings, fuselage rib assemblies, landing gears, and operational control. Solid modeling for Electronic Mock-up installation project. Provide support for tool-design and NC programming department. Team provides support for Boeing 747, Bell Helicopter Model 609, Lockheed Martin F16, F22 and JSF, and McDonnell Douglas F4-Phantom programs.
