Students’ results:
- Under my supervision hundreds of students mastered the geography program for every grade of the Russian Secondary School, also prepared for various exams and competitions in geography and related subjects.
- From 2014 to 2018, my students used to be the best in the district round of the Russian School Competition in Geography, and also became winners of the regional stage in St. Petersburg. Three students in different years participated in the final stage of the Russian School Competition in Geography.
- Thanks to these results of my students GBOU Lyceum No. 419 of St. Petersburg entered the “Top 500 schools of Russia”.
- Two students passed the Unified State Exam (11th grade of Russian school) in geography with 96 points on a 100-point scale. The other four wrote for 65-80 points. Yes, there were 6 of them in 7 years of work. Few people take geography (in general in the Russian Federation only about 2% of graduates), especially in the math lyceum.
- The average score of those who took the Basic State Exam (9th grade) in geography is “4” on a 5-point scale (with 5 as the best result). This happened without special preparation, only due to attending my school lessons. Although it is no secret that this exam is usually taken by far not the best ninth-graders.

Professional achievements:
- Winner of the district stage and laureate of the city stage of the “Teacher of the Year of Russia” competition in the “Pedagogical Hopes” nomination in 2014.
- Winner of the All-Russian competition of pedagogical excellence “Pedagogical Debut” in Moscow in 2014.
- Created a huge library of my own methodological materials on the subject - more than 600 units.
- Author of assignments on geography for the City Tournament named after K.M. Kalmanov in 2013-2017.

I've been to Sevilla

It was my first time there. Three days to feel the atmosphere and explore the city. Obviously three days were not enough. I hope to go to Sevilla again in the future.

I joined a walking city tour (in Spanish), took a boat trip along the Guadalquivir, visited the "Las Dueñas" Palace (guided in Spanish also), and enjoyed a flamenco show (yes, of course, how can you avoid it in Andalucía?). I visited the Botanical Garden as well, you know me. An extra post about it is coming soon.

Naturally, I was comparing Sevilla with Mallorca, where I live, as well as with Valencia and Madrid, I've been to. 

Here are advantages and disadvantages I've noticed. I'll be glad to read your thoughts about the city if you have experience.

I start with dislikes:
👎 too many streets under construction, which makes the city look unmaintained,
👎 too many homeless people,
👎 lots of horse-drawn carriages and consequently a terrible smell everywhere in the city center (and I'm strongly against this kind of exploitation of animals).

Huge pluses:
👍 loads of churches, palaces, and all kind of cultural heritage – 3000-year history is not a joke,
👍 the Guadalquivir river (my inner geographer is happy),
👍 really high density of bars and restaurants with good food, 
👍 no Catalan *,
👍 Botanical Garden with a city panoramic view,
👍 authentic flamenco performed by people who really learned it at their mother's knee.

About my latest botanical garden experience. Botanical Garden in Sevilla is called El arboreto de "El Carambolo" and has several advantages.

🔸️ Only 10 minutes by public bus away from the busy city center.
🔸️ Quiet and calming. There was literally nobody. I enjoyed so much the tranquility of the place. On Tuesday morning there were just amazed me and garden workers.
🔸️ The location offers fantastic panoramic views of Sevilla as the garden is situated on the hill.
🔸️ The entrance price is only 2 euros. Too small for such a gem. 
🔸️ The garden is beautifully planed, well maintained, has lots of banks to chill in the shadow being surrounded by green scenery. 

It's just a perfect site to escape from the city center, hot and overloaded with tourists. 

This kind of post is pure sharing of happiness 💚

И немного лингвистическое. Думаю, вы знаете, что добрая часть этого мира до середины 20 века была колониями Европейских стран, от которых осталось большое и чаще нерадостное наследство. 

Остались в том числе географические названия, которые иногда подсказывают, чьей колонией была территория и какой европейский язык используется сейчас в качестве официального (или одного из). 

Смотрите и произносите вслух - столица (страна):
▫️ Freetown (Sierra Leone)
▫️ Kingston (Jamaica)
▫️ Bridgetown (Barbados)
▫️ Wellington (New Zealand)
▫️ Port Moresby (Papua New Guinea)

Все эти названия очень английские и не оставляют сомнений: когда-то перечисленные территории контролировались Британской Империей и сейчас официальный язык (или один из) там английский.

Linguistic exercise and aesthetic pleasure 

Today, I've joined La Ruta Modernista, a guided walking tour in Sóller. It was one of numerous events of the first "Le Journée del modernisme" in our beloved town. 

The story was told in Mallorquín (dialect of Catalán). My level of language is very basic. But the context helped a lot as I am familiar with the architectural styles and the history of the city. Thus, I've understood maybe half of what the guide said, and I'm quite satisfied with it.

I enjoyed following the clues and noticing details I had never paid attention to before. You can see them in the photos. 

At one point, something magical happened. The moment we stopped to admire one of the buildings, the owner came back home... And let us in. What we saw was truly impressive and very beautiful because inside it looks like a museum or a palace. I was so excited that I even forgot to take a picture 🙈. 

Sóller has lots of hidden gems. I'm a lucky person to live in such a place.

Before going, I honestly doubted that I would enjoy the excursion because of Catalán and rainy weather. I must say I genuinely enjoyed the walk. Lots of thanks to the guide and those who organized it.

Для успеха на 4-часовом экзамене важна не только предметная подготовка.

Всегда прямым текстом говорю, что мы не роботы и не можем сохранять одинаково высокую эффективность 4 часа к ряду. Нужно давать хотя бы небольшие перерывы организму. Для этого используем возможность (и святое право) выйти в туалет и за водой. По дороге "будим" тело. Это нужно делать обязательно. Необходимо помогать мозгу, поставляя ему кровь, разминать спину и шею, расслаблять глаза и т.д.

Со многими учениками обсуждаем и очередность выполнения заданий на экзамене. Нет единого рецепта, приведу один конкретный пример.

Подросток решал задания последовательно, в порядке нумерации, стопорился на первых трёх задачах, геометрических, психовал, и дальше у него ничего уже не хотело решаться. Мы договорились, чтобы он решал в произвольном порядке, но обязательно начинал с самых любимых и приятных заданий. Дело пошло. Результат и настроение подростка сразу улучшились.

Стратегия играет роль.

Tengo ganas y esperanza de poder un día trabajar en el sistema educativo de España. 

Con el paso del tiempo veo que mis posibilidades están aumentando. 
Mi hijo crece y su autonomía se desarrolla, así que podré volver a trabajar offline. Mi castellano mejora poco a poco, no dejo la idea de pasar el DELE de nivel C1. Mi NIE pronto sale renovado y para 5 años. Estoy familiarizándome con el currículum español de matemáticas y otras asignaturas.

Sé que sigue siendo imposible entrar en una escuela pública o un instituto público, porque esto requiere oposisiones. Pero también veo que los centros educativos privados a menudo carecen de profesorado. Y si en septiembre no tienen un profe para alguna asignatura, pueden aceptar a una persona que no tenga todos los requisitos de la lista y sin embargo pueda enseñar.

¿Tengo razón en esto o no? ¿Hay oportunidad de este tipo?

¿Hace falta homologar mis grados de Rusia? Tengo tres: de geógrafa, de profe de siencias naturales y de profe de mates de secundaria.  ¿O más vale obtener algún grado Europeo?
