The Ideas Powered for business SME Fund is a grant scheme designed to help EU small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) protect their intellectual property (IP) rights. The SME Fund is a European Commission initiative implemented by the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO).

IP Scan puts you directly in contact with an IP expert designated from a National IP office who will work with you to review your business model, products/services, and growth plans.

My duties as an IP Expert include:

- Analysing SMEs' business models, assessing their IP, and identifying the most appropriate IP strategy for them. 
- Presenting the findings of the analysis in a report and offering recommendations on how to integrate an IP strategy into SMEs’ business plans.
- Working with SMEs to integrate the recommendations into their business.

IP Scan Expert for the Bulgarian Patent Office

World Intellectual Property Organization – WIPO

WIPO is a specialised agency of the United Nations and the WIPO Arbitration and Mediation Center is a neutral, international and non-profit dispute resolution provider, and the global leader in the provision of domain name dispute resolution services under the WIPO-designed UDRP.

- Provided input in the assignment and supervision of work of 20 Legal Case Managers, and guidance on issues arising in the management of cases
- Provided input in the review of panel decisions for the purpose of inclusion in WIPO's publicly available case-related resources
- Made proposals on the allocation of WIPO panelists based on case requirements
- Maintained relations with and provided information to users, relevant organisations and registrars on internet dispute resolution and operational matters
- Delivered training and presentations on internet dispute resolution matters

Associate Legal Officer

- Shepherded cases through the UDRP procedural process, administering disputes under generic Top-Level Domains ("gTLDs") and country code Top-Level Domains ("ccTLDs") (working languages: English,  Spanish and Bulgarian)
- Provided information to users, relevant organisations and registrars on internet dispute resolution and
operational matters
- Assisted WIPO Panelists with jurisprudential analysis and legal research (decision review support, point of contact between Panelists and parties, participation in and organisation of the annual Panelists Meeting)
- Participated in internal and external seminars, workshops and training courses
- Delivered training and presentations on internet dispute resolution matters (to users, staff and new legal case managers)

Legal Case Manager

Deloitte España

Acted as a consultant for the Convergence Programme at the European Union Intellectual Property Office ("EUIPO"), which aims at harmonising national intellectual property offices' practices.

Directed two convergence projects (CP8 and CP9), managed a team of four people and acted as a point of contact between the EUIPO and Deloitte for those projects.

Other responsibilities included:
- Drafting of complex project documents (analysis papers, project briefs, rules of participation, best practices, Working Group meeting preparatory documents and presentations)
- Research and analysis in the areas of trade marks and designs (national law, EU Regulations and Directives, case law, practices of national and regional IP Offices)
- Designing questionnaires on possible future Convergence Projects in the areas of trade marks and designs (absolute grounds, relative grounds, cancellation, register, formalities)
- Preparation, organisation and follow-up on workshops to collect information from national IP Offices and User Associations

Legal Business Analyst for the Convergence Analysis Project at EUIPO

ELZABURU

Developed Elzaburu's expansion and presence on the Chinese market. Furnished strategic advice and developed the IP side of businesses in China and in Europe (for Chinese companies). A part of my associateship was spent on-site in Beijing.

IP and Business Consultant

Managed the coordination between the different departments of the firm in Madrid and the Beijing office, which included training of staff, project management, strategy and business development. A part of my associateship was spent on-site in Beijing.

Other responsibilities included:
- Furnishing legal and strategic advice to multinational and Fortune 500 companies in the area of trade marks (preliminary searches, applications, portfolio management, defending and enforcing trade mark rights)
- Collaborating with the Legal & Business Department on different projects, mainly connected with strategy development for technology transfer, green technologies and biotechnology
- Developing the IP side of businesses in China and in Europe (for Chinese companies)
- Drafting of complex legal texts to be filed before the EUIPO, the WIPO or the Spanish Patent and Trade Mark Office (oppositions, appeals, invalidity and revocation claims, domain name cancellation actions, domain name arbitration decisions)

in the Litigation Department and 3 months in the Trade Mark Department)

More than a decade has passed since I walked the halls of the Germán Bernácer building at the University of Alicante as a 21-year-old Master’s student at the Magister Lvcentinvs 👼 

A lot has changed since then, law and technology have advanced quite a bit (the latter much more than the former, but hey - it is what it is) 𝐛𝐮𝐭 𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐡𝐚𝐬 𝐚𝐥𝐰𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝐛𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐞𝐱𝐜𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫-𝐞𝐯𝐨𝐥𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝 𝐨𝐟 𝐈𝐏!

I had the privilege and honour to give a lecture at the 𝐌𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫’𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐃𝐢𝐠𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐭𝐲 𝐋𝐚𝐰 - an innovative programme keeping up with the times and teaching on technological developments such as #blockchain, #AI, the
#metaverse and many more, and their intersection with the law. 

My lecture was on 𝐄𝐦𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐈𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 and I must say, it is probably the most interesting and exciting topic I have lectured on so far! 

We talked about how companies use 𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬, 𝐩𝐬𝐲𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐤𝐬 and the 𝐡𝐮𝐦𝐚𝐧 𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞, to create an unbreakable bond with their brands, products, and designs. 

We also talked about the 𝐰𝐚𝐯𝐞𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 throughout history, the 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐭 𝐫𝐞𝐯𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, #𝐖𝐞𝐛3 and what’s next 👀
