With over fourteen years of expertise in the cannabis industry, Genifer Murray stands as a pioneering female leader and visionary. In 2010, she founded one of the first analytical cannabis testing laboratories in the U.S., playing a critical role in shaping the industry's early growth and elevating its professional standards. Murray’s influence extends beyond business operations into legislative advocacy, where she has been a driving force behind key reforms. She actively lobbied for comprehensive cannabis regulation, banking reform, and solutions to the restrictive 280E tax code. In 2013, as a member of Colorado’s Governor’s Task Force, she was instrumental in the implementation of Amendment 64, a groundbreaking initiative that ended cannabis prohibition in the state. Recognized as a global thought leader, Murray has been a prominent advocate for legalization and responsible regulation, with a deep focus on product safety, cannabis testing, and quality assurance. Her unparalleled expertise has made her a trusted advisor to legislators, industry leaders, and media outlets worldwide. She has also spoken internationally on the critical importance of cannabis testing, reinforcing her position at the forefront of industry development. In 2015, Murray further demonstrated her commitment to raising industry standards by founding Carbon Blue Consulting, providing specialized advisory services for cannabis testing laboratories. Her work included establishing an in-house lab for what is now Curaleaf in Miami. Murray’s passion for cannabis also took a creative form when she co-founded GeniferM, a cannabis-inspired jewelry line. The idea was sparked in 2014 when Murray asked her father, Glenn Murray, a renowned jeweler, to design a simple marijuana leaf pin. Instead, Glenn crafted an exquisite 18kt white gold, 2.5ct diamond-pave indica leaf, which Genifer wore across the country, helping to shift public perceptions of cannabis. This success led to the company's rebranding as High Point Jewelry in 2019, which Genifer is operating following Glenn’s passing in 2021. Murray is a fervent advocate for women’s rights. Her early involvement with the Women’s CannaBusiness Network in 2011, which evolved into Women Grow by 2014, helped elevate women into leadership roles in a traditionally male-dominated industry.
