Kids4Peace is a small independent non-profit organization focused on local issues of peace and injustice. Through interfaith collaboration, Kids4Peace focuses on building understanding among kids of global problems. Kids4Peace focuses on inspiring kids to pursue a more just world through conflict resolution.

In this role, I worked on a small team to develop an evaluation plan for one of the organization's prominent programs that outlined the evaluation design, methods, and timeline. This included developing a logic model for the program and designing the surveys to be used as part of the evaluation. The focus when designing the evaluation plan was to create an evaluation that could be administered and analyzed by a single-person team.

American Institutes for Research

American Institutes for Research is a non-profit that provides technical assistance and conducts behavioral and social science research for various stakeholders, including state agencies, foundations, and private clients. 

In this role, I provided technical assistance and research support on various projects, including: 

The Student-Centered Formative Assessment Network (SCAN) worked with teachers to implement and measure formative assessment practices in their classrooms. 

Graduation Ready - Working with school teams to implement Early Warning Intervention and Monitoring Systems across their school to improve graduation rates.

Region 9 Comprehensive Center - Provided technical assistance to state agencies in Iowa and Illinois. Assistance in Iowa was focused on increasing equitable instructional practices in classrooms and identifying strategies to help the state expand its teacher leadership program. Assistance in Illinois focused on supporting the state to develop strategies to  improve teacher retention across the state. 

Study of Deeper Learning. - Developed a survey that measured Civic Engagement Levels of young adults conducted interviews with young adults on how high school prepared them for Civic Engagement and Workforce Outcomes

Received Competitive Adrian Tinsley Summer Grant for Undergraduate research in the amount of $4,000

Spent the summer creating and disseminating a survey, as well as conducting interviews with education stakeholders across Massachusetts, as part of a research project examining the policy idea of universal preschool in Massachusetts.
