Antoni J. (George) Mickiewicz has retired after working in DuPont for 53 years. George worked as a full-service employee in the first 37 years of his career and as an independent consultant in the last 16 years. Since joining DuPont Sustainable Solutions (DSS) consulting business in 2006, as an independent consulting resource, George has served as a Senior Consultant providing Risk Management, Contractor Management, Process and Workplace Safety systems evaluation, current state performance identification, competency assessments, best practice improvements and implementation guidance/assistance to the following industries: petrochemical, steel, pharmaceutical, logistics, fertilizer, liquid gas and petroleum distribution systems, industrial and home garage doors manufacture, aluminum rolled and extruded products, energetics/explosives, power generation and distribution, food/grocery warehousing, sanitation, nickel & calcium carbonate and coal mining, nickel chemical extraction. He has provided this assistance in India, Canada, Mexico, Saudi Arabia, New Caledonia, Puerto Rico, Colombia and USA. He also aided in improving DSS PSM offerings and facilitated a DuPont Logistics team to create a DSM (Distribution Safety Management) standard for the DuPont global distribution group. Risk and Process Safety Management (PSM) is the application of governance and management controls to operations involving hazardous materials and processes in a way that hazards are identified, eliminated, understood, mitigated and controlled so that related injuries, events and catastrophes can be prevented.
