Hi there, welcome to my LinkedIn page! My name is Giovanni, but most people call me Gio. I'm a Harvard Business School alum (GMP21) with 23 years of using passion, creative problem solving and people skills to achieve consistent results in various cross cultural settings. I'm a former strategy consultant who went from becoming a Chief People Officer in a rapid growth startup to serving in broader, strategic roles where I balance innovation & web3 with regular business strategy & execution. Currently, I'm serving as Head of Strategy, Innovation & Ventures for a medium size bank where I look after Strategy, Transformation, CX, BI, our Venture arm, Fintech Partnerships & Innovation Lab, Web3, AI & the Metaverse. I'm extremely passionate to find utility and use cases for Web3 or Web2.5 (including DeFi, tokenization, custody, ZK proof and digital assets) for the banking industry. It's my personal believe that while banks will continue to have a role in the future, it will be a fundamentally different function that will require a full paradigm, operating model and mindset shift. You could say that I'm on a mission to rethink the role of a bank in a Web3 context. I love working on things that I’m passionate about, with great people I can look up to, who share a natural curiosity towards learning and trying new things. As a mentor for 60DaysStartups & Intima I'm helping prepare a new generation of founders to change the world. As a board director for Luna PR I stay deeply connected to the latest and greatest around innovation, web3 and Fintech To satisfy my creative needs I set up a creative agency that has worked with brands like Vans, G-Shock and Bloomingdales. Our proudest moment was the production of 'SHE', an award-winning documentary on women empowerment. Lastly, I speak at events, do some opinion piece writing and teaching - which I love. I’m a story teller at heart, and all of these outlets are just different outlets to express myself. I'm a proud web3 degen and member of multiple DAOs, I've been fortunate enough to carve out my own path and connect with a great community of like-minded people along the way.
