Interim Head of Marketing

My role is to lead the content team to create high-value materials to engage prospects and clients at every stage of the funnel. Our mission at UpSlide is to help people work better. My responsabilities include:

•	Devising and implementing a content strategy that supports this wider marketing strategy
•	Building and maintaining a happy, skilled and empowered content team (currently two direct reports)
•	Ensuring the right processes and tools are in place to ensure both excellence and efficiency
•	Creating the quarterly content schedule, ensuring maximum value from resources, and ensuring publication deadlines are met
•	Prioritising incoming requests and projects (e.g. from sales/CS teams)
•	Managing high-stakes, global projects
•	Owning editorial charter and ensuring the excellence of every piece published on central channels (with final sign-off on all EN content created by the marketing team)
•	Writing excellent briefs and reviewing content plans and drafts
•	Monitoring content performance and reporting to relevant departments
•	Working with Traffic Manager to ensure solid SEO + SEA strategy
•	Maintaining existing content 
•	Keeping a close eye on industry trends and competitors, and proposing ideas for impactful new content
•	Developing the PR strategy, working with agencies on specific campaigns

My role was translating our company’s mission and vision into compelling content. This was a new role for the company, allowing me to build the content function and team from scratch over two years. Day-to-day activities included:

• Set and drive the Group's content and social media strategy in order to make an impact through content and storytelling
• Manage a team of content creators 
• Establish a workflow for content creation to deliver a campaign programme that can be utilised across different routes to market
• Support thought leadership efforts including working with executive leadership on stories and announcements
• Drive PR, social media and external comms activities
• Create, manage and distribute content to the appropriate channels
• Collaborate with internal subject matter experts to understand the market, create insights and develop a content plan
• Identify and build relationships with publications and other third-party sources
• Manage any external content production where required (agency/contractor)
• Help evolve core narrative across the whole organisation

Senior Content Marketing Manager

• Conduct interviews with tech experts and senior executives in the Middle East, understanding market trends and insights
• Developed a "Women in Tech" monthly feature for the print magazine and worked on a monthly column on the impact of technology on our lives
• Spearheaded the redesign of the magazine
• Work closely with the Editor and editorial colleagues within the technology division to copyedit and restructure articles text to a consistently high standard
• Attend regional and global tech events to report on the latest news from the industry
• Support the Editor and sales team in keeping track of features timings and deliverables
• Meticulously proof read and fact check to ensure accuracy across all published content and clarify/amend where necessary
• Provide heads, sells and copy in keeping with house style and optimised for SEO and a digital audience
• Refer to relevant imagery to check captions and credits are as accurate as they can be
• Understand the use of CMS platform, confidently uploading and editing content on tahawultech.com in collaboration with the Online Editor
• Fully understand the schedules, deadlines and production processes to deputise for the Editor in their absence
• Contribute to ideas meetings, pitching stories and writing original, engaging copy
• Moderate panel discussions at industry events

Deputy Editor - Tech Division

Contributing Writer - BBC Good Food Middle East

• Set up, monitor and optimise digital advertising campaigns, with a focus on Google Ads Search and Display Network
• Create digital assets for digital advertising campaigns, including HTML5 display banners
• Lead the ongoing optimisation of the company website, inclusive of on-page/off-page SEO & CRO and SEO content production
• Take ownership of SEO campaign activity, with the aim of generating organic traffic
to core pages, while liaising with external agencies and copywriters for content production
• Production of weekly and monthly reports on website traffic, PPC conversion, SEO and opportunities
• Support wider marketing campaigns with the creation of digital assets, in particular with the production of the company's online and print magazines
