I offer Social Value Consultancy and Advisory Services, drawing from my valuable experience at Mitie, where I played a pivotal role in delivering impactful social value initiatives. Over the past two years, I was instrumental in embedding social value within a multimillion-pound contract in the nuclear industry, making it a central part of our operations. During my time at Mitie, I led the launch of the very first Mitie Business Boost, a Dragon’s Den-style event where two local entrepreneurs won a £10,000 cash prize to help grow their businesses. This initiative, a first for Mitie, has become a finalist for the IWFM awards, and I was a key contributor in the award entry process. I was also a key driver and board member for the Cumbrian Larder, a project aimed at giving local food and drink suppliers a platform to connect with larger organisations including Sellafield. Another career highlight was leading Mitie’s partnership with Whitehaven Alive, a local music festival, being heavily involved in the marketing and promotion of our presence at the event. Additionally, I implemented an employability programme within our contract, which successfully resulted in two candidates securing full-time positions. Whilst I’m just starting out as a consultant, I’m passionate about helping organisations navigate the increasingly important agenda of social value. In today’s industry, social value has become a key topic, and my hands-on experience at Mitie has equipped me with the skills and insights to guide businesses in planning, delivering, and measuring initiatives that make a real difference.
