BD + Partnerships, SDR Manager

Code Climate

Built and scaled new business acquisition efforts at Code Climate, supporting the inbound and outbound lead generation teams with strategy, messaging, and coaching. Reported to the VP of Marketing, VP of Sales, and CEO at various stages. 

- Doubled new business ARR in my first year building the team
- Inherited a team sourcing only 7% of new business ARR from outbound prospecting, and increased that to 26% in my first year
- Hired, developed, and scaled a BDR function that enabled the company to move up-market and away from a reliance on freemium customers
- Partnered closely with sales and marketing leadership to implement an ABM strategy that brought in our first seven-figure, Fortune 20 customer
- Tested and determined company ICPs and rebuilt both the inbound and outbound sales systems from scratch
- Created and continuously iterated on product value props, elevator pitches, and GTM strategy through changing market dynamics
- Sold highly technical developer analytics platform to CTOs and VPs of Engineering via a consultative sales methodology

Director of Business Development

Credly

- Sourced over $770K in closed won new business revenue for the AE team throughout my tenure on top of managing the SDR team (player/coach) 
- Team brought in over $6MM in closed won new business revenue throughout my tenure 
- Helped to transform the company revenue strategy throughout COVID pandemic
- Upskilled the SDRs on full-cycle closing for small business customers, resulting in >$100k additional closed won revenue
- Collaborated with marketing to create an ABM strategy for enterprise customers
- Collaborated on the product innovation leadership committee to decide product direction and conduct focus groups with potential clients
- Realized a 74% YOY increase in new business total contract value compared to 2019
- Reported directly to the Chief Operating Officer

Director, Sales Development

Directly responsible for building and scaling Credly's Sales Development team from inception. Created, tested, and continue to refine all relevant sales development processes and frameworks in collaboration with the VP of Sales. Responsible for the ongoing management and professional development of two roles: outbound Sales Development Reps, and Inbound Development Reps.

My responsibilities also include working with our marketing department to optimize our inbound lead funnel through various channels (webinars, events, thought leadership, etc.) I work closely with our Account Executives to ensure that they are effectively supported with Sales Qualified Opportunities.

I play a key role in the recruiting, training and on-boarding of new hires entering our sales development organization.

Reports directly to the Vice President of Sales.

Manager, Sales Development

Responsible for generating pipeline from inbound website + event leads. Exceeded quota in each month of tenure by supplementing my inbound leads with outbound prospecting activity. Left this role to pursue my first leadership opportunity.

Senior Account Development Representative 

Mimeo

Developed new partnerships with enterprise-level companies, focusing on the software, hospitality, and manufacturing industries.  Helped prospective clients find effective ways to manage and distribute their content for uses such as customer training, technical publications, marketing collateral, and sales proposals. 

For FY 2018 (April 1, 2017) to date: 
- Generated over $3MM in qualified pipeline
- Ranked number 1 on BDR team for Sales Qualified Opportunities (SQOs) completed
- Ranked number 1 on BDR team for both total revenue and new business revenue generated YTD
- Ranked number 1 on BDR team for new logos converted to current clients (25+)
- Surpassed both plan and target for SQO output in every quarter 

Additional activities: 
- Assisted sales leadership in creating standardized collateral for SDR training initiatives 
- Conducted one-on-one coaching for six different SDRs on the floor
- Analyzed KPIs to track SDR performance improvements over time, following coaching sessions
- Conducted interviews for both internal and external SDR candidates
- Chosen to represent Mimeo at ATD ICE 2017 conference in Atlanta
- Chosen to represent Mimeo at CHART Summer 2017 conference in San Diego

Qualified new business opportunities for Mimeo in training, retail, consulting, and manufacturing industries. Main activities included outbound prospecting through email and cold calling, as well as scheduling product demonstrations with qualified prospects.

Healomer is the project that diverged most from my comfort zone. It all started as an idea on paper for a self-healing mechanism in transparent materials, based on research studies I read in my spare time. This idea intrigued me enough to dedicate an entire summer to research and development, and the idea for a self-healing glass transformed into the development of a self-healing polymer that is activated by placing it in sunlight.

I’m a business development leader in the software engineering industry with a diverse, energetic skill set. I’m a creative and entrepreneurial individual who is never satisfied with the status quo. 

I’ve been involved with the crypto and Web3 worlds since 2016 and can often be found at events in NYC. I love the fusion of sovereign identity, art, culture, and community that is found within Web3. 

As a 2016 graduate of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY, I studied design, innovation, and society as well as business management. I have a strong technical background that complements my creative side. 

In my spare time, I enjoy cycling, lifting, and practicing martial arts. New York City is the place that inspires me most, as I appreciate the immense variation in cultures and experiences.

Here's a secret to help organically land a job in an emerging tech industry such as Web3, AI, metaverse, IoT etc. (even if you've never worked in that industry before)

Include keywords in your LinkedIn bio / description that can help hiring managers find you!

For example, before joining Alchemy I had nearly a decade of experience in crypto from the retail investment / community participant perspective, but no formal work experience in the industry.

However, I included a short line similar to "Passionate about Web3, blockchain, and crypto technologies" at the end of my LinkedIn bio.

I'm pretty sure nobody actually read my full bio, but over the years when recruiters for those companies searched with those keywords, I would pop up in their search! I actually ended up having a few inbound interviews as a result of this.

Now as I prepare to start headhunting to scale my team at Alchemy, I'm building out hyper-specific LinkedIn searches to help me find those "hidden gems" - and I'm coming across some super interesting profiles that I wouldn't have seen otherwise!
