Through an in-person experience in Berkeley, California, residents are encouraged to follow their curiosity and build something meaningful via project-based learning with the aid of their peers and AI. Coaches and mentors will be there for support along the way, and residents get to pitch to top-tier VCs at the end of the program.

Aya is a Canadian fintech company focusing on simple payment technology to help mitigate rising healthcare costs. Companies provide employees with an Aya Mastercard to pay for health and wellness benefits connected to the employer's health and wellness spending accounts (HSAs and WSAs).

Merit

Merit is a tech mentorship and recruiting platform for the under-networked in product, design, and engineering. They give first-year tech workers access to a qualified and diverse mentorship network and make mentorship frictionless for senior tech workers.

Two of the closest people in my life suddenly passed away in recent weeks.

First, it was my maternal grandmother. On Apr 2, 2024, she left this world quickly and painlessly. Everything has been taken care of on my mother's family's side, so we're at peace now.

Then, my good friend Tian Yuan (天元) Z. departed from a sudden illness on Apr 9, 2024.

Tian was legitimately one of the most exciting people I've ever met. He was a kind soul, had bundles of energy, was always willing to engage in debate, and loved life so much. If you'd like to read the full obituary, please follow this link: https://lnkd.in/gAR_hJCA

I won't sugarcoat that these have been some of the most challenging weeks of my life.

That's why I'll be taking next week off of work to rest, reflect, and recharge. If you identify with the Christian faith (Catholic, Protestant, Orthodox, etc.), please pray that they may be saved and spend everlasting life in heaven. If you do not, please keep them in your thoughts.

Going through the grieving process is tough, but you'll become a stronger person because of it.

It's my 29th birthday today!

Time flies by faster the older you become. You become so consumed with work and life that you get too busy to stop and reflect on how it's going. I make it a point every birthday to internalize and put into writing my key takeaways and learnings over the past year.

This year, I wanted to impart some wisdom and advice that have been top of mind for me recently:

1. Spend more intentional time with family, friends, and other loved ones because you don't know when they'll go.

2. A rich life doesn't come from your material possessions or the number of zeros in your bank account, but rather from your social circles and the experiences you cherish.

3. Live each day as if it's your last and minimize the amount of regrets you leave behind on your deathbed.

4. Stop caring about things outside your control and focus on what matters most to you.

5. Optimize for happiness and let go of hatred, sadness, and other negative emotions in your heart.

I'm excited to be returning to Pharmacy U Toronto this year!

I attended for the first time last year as a pharmacy student, and the sheer magnitude and quality of the production blew me away. Through attending educational sessions and networking with top-notch pharmacists and pharmacy professionals, I gleaned plenty of insights into the innovation and business side of pharmacy practice. This year is shaping up to be bigger and better than previous years, with 1k+ registrants, 30+ sessions, and 40+ sponsors.

The people are what makes a conference worthwhile.

I can't wait to attend with Nicholas Hui and Taher Rehmanji, learn more from speakers such as Nardine Nakhla, Jen Belcher, Jim Danahy, Shelita Dattani, PharmD, Brian Lam, Ajit Johal, Michael Boivin, Jaclyn Katelnikoff, BSc PMCOL, BSc Pharm, RPh, Aaron Sihota, and Mohamed Adel Elsabakhawi, and reconnect with colleagues such as Martin Rissin, Aska Patel, Sandeep Rai, Sunny Lalli, Ali Zohouri, Angelo Dias, and Manveer Dhillon.

I had a fantastic time at the first Wholehealth Pharmacy Partners Partner Summit this past weekend in Collingwood!

Representing MedMe Health (YC W21) alongside Taher Rehmanji and Nicholas Hui, we chatted with many independent pharmacy owners across the banner, understood their clinical services needs, and showcased our platform. This was also my first time representing MedMe at a trade show booth at a pharmacy conference! It was nice to see and catch up with folks like James Morrison, Molly Yang, PharmD, RPh, Shirley Savage, Dean Miller, Jauher Ahmad, Angelo Dias, Manveer Dhillon, and others.

I had a blast at Pharmacy U Toronto last Saturday!

It was my second time attending, and I was impressed by the increased scale of this year's conference compared to the last. It was great speaking with different pharmacy stakeholders, such as Meriam Salih and Obinna Okafor-Justin as pharmacy students, Sarah Fallis and George Daskalakis as practicing pharmacists, and the entire team at Helios Compounding Pharmacy as pharmacy owners. The future is bright for the pharmacy profession as pharmacists become more efficient and effective in patient care through their increased scope of practice and adoption of AI and other technological innovations in their workflow.

I might attend the Vancouver edition later this year, and MedMe Health (YC W21) might exhibit next year, so stay tuned!
